Prada Menswear S/S 2012 : Michael Pitt by David Sims

So tired of celebrities in fashion campaigns. Even worse, a celebrity that's not even attractive. :/

i was wondering what it reminded me of..they look like stills from an HBO crime show

It definitely captures that 50s teen pinup vibe, but without the nostalgia. It's sleeker, slicker and quirky. I love that fine line between high fashion and junk culture that Prada always has finger on.

This is exactly why I love this campaign, and well.. I love Michael Pitt anyway. I was shocked to hear about this and as soon as I saw it I loved it. Do agree that it looks a bit more like an editorial than a campaign but it works for me.

i like it, these clothes need some personality if someone wants to pull it off so it makes complete sense they went for michael pitt here..

looks a lot better than it looked on the models in the show

As much as I love Miuccia's women collection, I'm still yet to appreciate her men's. And the theme used in those pictures made it worse.

in the beginning i was (oh i love it ) !!
then i realized that it's not a photoshoot , it's a campaign !!
so now i dont like anything about it ! even the clothes , looks like 70's :S

very odd choice but nice photography! i can see him doing ann demeulemeester. unless he is going mainstream with his career like scarlett johansson!

For me, I don't understand the relevance of Michael Pitt in the campaign.
Is he in a new movie or something?
I agree with the others that said this looks like an editorial.
I think a group shot would've worked well.
Maybe a vintage feel at a bowling alley with darker tones
Or a brighter scene with guys laying down in very green grass,
Well lit,
Single shots and a group shot
Johnny George,
Benjamin Eidem,
Aiden Andrews.
-shrug-

if they were gonna use an actor, i'd actually prefer if they used tobey again.. he would still fit the collection imo. when tobey was casted for the previous ad, people were thinking why, what was he supposedly creating publicity for.. was it (or am i just assuming) that it was because prada was doing the great gatsby with baz.. anyways, they could have kept up with it..

i swear miuccia just likes burning money by shooting a separate and independent menswear campaign. while this collection hardly struck my fancy, it would've looked marvelous shot in the same fashion as the womenswear ads with those female models juxtaposed alongside. if givenchy can do it, prada most certainly can.

Miuccia is one of the last ones who'd come to mind when thinking about people in fashion who make financially intelligent decisions.

^ for that I really love her, but these campaigns are just blah. if they are ugly to death, that would be even more funnier.
