Prada Menswear S/S 2022 Milan

If you take apart all the looks and see through the smoke and mirrors styling, there's only like ten different pieces. They've just been copied and pasted around in different colours/prints. It's just so lazy.

Yea it’s J.W. Anderson level of lazy LOL!

However, far better than last S/S cold, lifeless collection. Would really love to wear some of the knit brief-like shorts…

This collection is really funny, because:

1. It completely relies on Prada archives. The prints as well as some cuts (the distressed sweaters, for instance) are from different 2000s seasons. There is nothing new.
2. All items are obscenely logo-ed. Without them, it would be a decent offering, but change that logo to Lanvin or JWA and no one would be wiser.
3. As Nomar noted, there are 10 pieces repeated over and over. The five looks are all the same.

We don't need Raf for this collection. And honestly, not even Miuccia.

This is essentially my look for spring summer every single year: "extremely short" shorts, long (oversized or just tailored) jacket and brogues or derbys with long socks. Having said that I liked only few looks, didn't get this weirdly cutted tops in the second half of the show. I like the vibe (set and music) but the collection is not something I'd kill for. Will get few pieces if they even bother to produce them.

I actually got an invite in the mail for this and I was really confused because I have NEVER gotten one from them before for any of their online collections. And the last time I made a major purchase was for FW19 (do not judge me lol). Feels a little desperado on their part. Anyways, lazy af. I don't know if the rompers and skorts will fly. Most of it looks like it could be bought at Old Navy or something. Also all the blazers and leather and those derbys at the beach is just like odd. Not very interesting. Not interested in buying any of it

What's about the octopus overall? would you be mad if a grown up man would wear it ( shirt version, of course) or do you expect only silly bambini to stroll around with it? Well, I'll post it on me, if I would be able to find it for no more than 500 ...

This collection feels very weird. As some of you noticed, it is really internally repetitive. The vibe I get from those clothes is that they somehow tried to do a softened version of Raf's Calvin SS19 collection, it's very close to that idea of sharks and swimwear infused in everyday wear. They also added some tattoo prints on garments and on paper it screams Prada, but the execution was kind of off.

Do I like it? Not at all, because they shouldn't have put their logo on literally everything, there are so many irrelevant gimmics such as the sunglasses worn on the bucket hats and the big triangle bag is just a big NO. The video was interesting, but the formula will get tired very soon, same with repetitive soundtracks by Plastikman.

Very strong "Lord of the flies" vibe with the video.

I already tired of the whole thing already. The music, can we get a different composer. The triangle logo on everything, let the clothes breathe. And those striped prints are very Zara, basic. The prints are so boring, and prints are always Miuccia strength. Miuccia Fall 2016 sailor collection is still more desirable than this.

Prada is the new Calvin Klein...Raf painted the CK store yellow, now here we have a red set...next step?? Closing the main line and focusing only in accessories maybe??

It is a certain sign when I cannot remember a single thing from the show. Usually there is at least one piece I can recall, here it is zero, why even bother, I cannot comprehend any of this. This is the laziest I've ever seen any designer to put out. Even Vaccarello slightly adjusts Hedi's designs when he rips them off.

One more thought: I looked at the collection again in detail, and while it has all the Prada ingredients (not to mention the omnipresent logo), it doesn't feel Prada at all? I am the only one who feels this way?

To me, it all looks very unsophisticated and literal. Like the leather shoes with the floral embellishments — I remember how Prada played with the same motif in AW12, but now it's just unimaginative flowers stuck to the shoes. Or the stripes — SS11, anyone?

It’s not the worst one to come out of the Raf-attack yet, but the problem with Prada for many years now is…what do these clothes say about anything?

Prada used to mean something because the collections seriously asked questions of men and women and how and why they dressed the way they did. Each collection was an inquiry, an exploration, a proposition…smart, concise, to the point, impactful. All the elements were purposeful in the context of the overarching statement of the season.

For many years now, Prada hasn’t had anything intelligent to say or to ask. That’s why the clothes look like a bunch of merchandise and the press release is world salad.

I could care less about what Raf and Miuccia are blabbering on about this season…these clothes don’t MEAN anything.

This "collection" could be presented during NYFW, it's that bad. I just hate the times we are in. No one seems to care anymore. All they want is more money. It will never be enough for them. Miuccia will soon sell toilet paper just to get more cash and open next zillion boutiques. At least Manuela doesn't have to see this sh*t.
