Prada stockings

Hi, it's my first time on this site. I found it through my relentless searching of "prada stockings" on google. I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only person completely obsessed with these things. I even had a dream about them last night. I NEEEED them! Anyway just wanted to contribute to the search. Now I'm not usually one for buying copies of stuff but in a situation like this where there's none left on the planet (incidentally, where are all these prada sock wearing people?), It's desperate measures. I've ordered a couple of lookalikes from sockdreams.com...the colours aren't really right but I'm going to have a go dyeing them. But I also spotted these thigh highs on ebay that might be of interest. I've just ordered them to see what they're like & there's a few pairs left. They might not be any good but at £3.99 you can't complain!

^That knit looks a little thick but yes £3.99 is a bargain. I have the Pradas and the knit is REALLY REALLY thin... almost sheer.

Susie I'm sooo jealous. I wish I'd bought them earlier....I just kinda assumed they'd be available for ages. argh. I don't think I'll rest until i have them!
x:sick:

I got mine yesterday but except for a few outfits I'm kind of lost about what to wear them with. Would they match with a bright yellow skirt? shorts? I'd love to see outfits you guys have thought of!

I have already thought about possible oufits while waiting for them to arrive. I think I would wear them with a couple of jeans skirts that I have (one is a black pencil skirt) and my black bubble skirt. I am not sure about the shoes. Maybe they would work with the Kors Newton wedges that I have or with a pair of grey suede ankle boots that I just bought. I will also try them with my grey pinstripe Johnson shorts and black Zara shorts. I will try to put together some and outfits and maybe post them.

Article from Elle magazine May 06, scanned by me. I was so excited to see a whole article on the stockings :innocent:

Interesting how the socks warrant an article by themselves - considering I haven't seen them about town on too many ppl! Nor do I see them as mass-trend items.

Are these Prada stockings? They don't look quite slouchy enough, but it's a cute outfit anyway.

I'm pretty sure they are the prada stocking, the ribbing and everything look exactly the same, I think she just has them pulled up higher and they look slightly bunched at her ankle.

Hey GG, did you try to wear yours yet? I'd love to see pics. My stocking still haven't arrived and I tried to email the seller twice and did not hear back from him. But I got a note from my post office saying that there is something for me that can be picked up. Hopefully it's the stockings. Today is a holiday over here so I can't pick it up until tomorrow. Can't wait. I'm so impatient ;-)

More pics. I'm not sure what the reclining is all about. Maybe to emphasize the broken doll look? The ad looks a lot more wearable than the editorial version. Whoa, Nelly, those are some short shorts!

Love the shoes in the Prada ad, too.

They do look cute, but I think I'll just wait till the copies come out *blush* and they're so hard to find now

Although... the Prada store in Sydney Australia haven't received their shipment in yet... I suppose if anyone's desperate they can try contacting that store and doing a phone order.

I just got my Prada stocking in the mail and tried them on. They the exact same ones as in the last picture only they are a darker grey. I was just wondering if I should have bought a larger size for that slouchy look. At the moment they are a little tight and not loose at all. Maybe my legs are not slim enough?
@Guessgirl, how do yours fit? Did you buy the small size as well? Do you think they will become looser while wearing them?

Velony, the sizes go buy shoes size, the leg is the same on all of them. Mine aren't loose at all but becuase they're long I just slouch them down which makes the little wrinkles.

The SA told me they're not meant to be loose per se, they're just exceedingly long! Even on the models, you can see the slouchiness is resulting from the length rather than the fit of the stockings - otherwise how else would they stay up!

I was wondering if there are different versions of the stockings. Does anyone know? The ones I bought are very thin (nylon looking) and look like in the second pic in # 54. But the ones in the last pic look different and as they are made of thicker knit. I think that I like the latter better. They also seem to be longer and slouchier. Mine are very tight when I try to pull them up over my knees :-(
