Price Increase

I was at Neiman Marcus for the purse sale yesterday and I was disgusted at the price of bags. The SA told me most of the designer bags had a pricei ncrease last week. She said one Chanel bag went up 400.00! The Gucci bag I was looking at went up 150.00!!! I was disgusted!

that disgusts me too. even houses like hermès have price increases, which i find completely absurd as their prices are already beyond sky-high as is.

I thought vuitton only did it once a year? Anyway I agree. There is a certain craftsmanship but the sad truth is, people are still willing to pay these prices because they would rather have one designer bag that conveys to the world they can afford designer, than invest in a shirt or pants and shoes. C'est la vie. Until there is no market, it will continue.

I heard that from an Asian friend. She said that the prices have already decreased in the range of US$10 to US$30. A second wave in coming in a few days. Not sure if this applies to the US.

$10 - $30 thats nothing when you're talking about a bag that costs 1k or more...Now $100 - $300 is decent.

that seems pointless. while I'll never complain about paying less, it doesn't seem to make good business sense to make a price change which I presume will require updating catalogs, price tags, computers, etc. for such a small amount.

On Eluxury.com some of the Dior bags prices have dropped. Not by $10 - $30 but by $400 - $500.

The 50's Saddle, it was in the $1,400 range but now it's $990, much more reasonable since it's printed silk. The Detective Saddle has also dropped, from like $1,500 to $1,150, very reasonable since it's all leather.

and the mini saddle pouch actually increased to $250. i thought it was $210 before. weird
