what do you all think of primarks? do you shop there? i love cheap things :p

I like Primark, i got a cheap military jacket in there that i'm going to paint 'god save the queen on'..

I think Primarks ok, sometimes you can find some great stuff, but I agree it does smell....

the underwear is fabulous if you are willing to trawl through the diamante thongs and whatnot, they do some fun, cute and occasionally kitsch big pants there, and most of the pairs are about one fifty.

on the other hand, it's full of chavs and the queues are fantastically long, at least in my local branch. standing behind someone who smells like they wash in charlie blue for twenty minutes is not a pleasant experience...

I've lived in england for 1.5 years and never even seen a primark in person...only people holding bags. i know there has to be one near me...but it is very evasive.

I've been in once or twice (I have a feeling it's twice but I may have blocked it out) and I got a headache, the lights are horrible. I've seen people with some nice stuff from there though, I sent my mam in for fleece blankets once  they were so comfy. Not that I've been donning them down the pub or anything.

Sorry.. H&M is the cheapest i go.. ive tried to find stuff in Primak, ive been there twice or something..,but it smells and the chlothes are just so.. cheap looking.

Not for me, but i am sure you can find bargains there.

I have to admit though, primark seem to be trying more with there designs now, I mean you can see where they are coming from with some of there stuff..

Primark is good up to a point,
good for cheap fashion stuff which is bevoming mainstream and you dont want to spend much money on,

terrible for queuing and trying things on,

good for a simple top to wear for work,

bad if you want to look individual,

good if you want to make a bit of money on ebay from some of the stuff (beleive me people pay loads on ebay for primark things, thinking that they are designer ((idiots!)) ),

bad if you are one of the stupid people who buy the things off ebay for high prices!

yes, awful queues, but chap as hell if you go into the city with £10, you can come out with a new outfit! i have the military jacket in black Manuva mentioned. my friends hated it, but it was in vogue, so screw them. i love H&M too, but if i want to customise stuff, Primark is great for plain things to cut up. They've gone overboard on wraps/shrugs this season though

I agree with stylishmoi

Primark is the new New Look in my opinion - great if you have no money and want to look "fashionable" but it smells and always looks like a jumble sale to me - far too messy and unless I'm really in the mood I can't be bothered to rummage and then queue up for hours. The staff were dreadful in the Manchester store too - hardly any of them spoke English.

The quality is poor but you don't mind so much if you've only spent £1.50 on a pair of jeans !!

I bought a beautiful bright pink chiffon kaftan with silver embroidery and it was only £1.00 !!!

.......primarks would be amazing if they kept the same prices but made the stores feel more like "zara" or "h&m" and got rid of the smell

^ah. i think the smell may be a mixture of the staff and the customers. yeah, if they made their shops nicer to be in, it would make all the difference. i wish shops would realise that. i hate reallyreally hot shops, cause you just have to leave, but if it's cool, spacious, and not like a jumble sale, then you automatically stay in for longer.

I love H&M aswell, but Primark is best for basics. £2 for vest tops and t-shirts, you can't really go wrong. I'd never spend £8 or so for a Vest Top in Topshop, and the primark ones aren't bad quality.
I got a top in there recently it's a long grey slouchy vest with beading, and it was £6, it would have easily been 3x that in somewhere like Warehouse.

Also, I got a lovely Pink Pashmina from there a few seasons ago..

They've redone the Primark near me and it no longer smells wierd!

Its alright for cheap stuff you only want to wear a few times but the ques are a mile long

I agree with the vest thing, I must have at Least 8 white vest tops from there!
