Proenza Schouler F/W 2012.13 New York

Just finished watching the livestream....this was bad a***. Those chinese inspired bomber jackets are so on my F/W '12 shopping list.

FINALLY a really really awesome collection from the boys again. I was so disappointed from the last ones. but this one nails it. great styling, great shapes and the jackets! wow I really need one of those jackets and skirts.

I absolutely love this. The materials look amazing, I wished I could jump through the screen and touch them.

I loved the collection; goodness I wish I could afford this line, but I pretty much have to wait until items go on sale. :( I loved the skirt lengths, the boxy jackets, that aqua colour. It was lovely. More boxy leather too...

There's not a word to describe this collection. FLAWLESS!!!!!

I'm indifferent to the colorful/printed part but you don't play with my heart doing all-white tissue-like layers :heart:. Impeccable styling, the proportions and hair and everything else are right up my alley. This gave me a deja vu of this by the way, not really by the 'furry' part but the entire silhouette.. actually the entire collection reminds me of that Balenciaga one.. but somehow I see this as genuine inspiration.. this has a lot of their signature elements and styling proper of PS and New York and it's obviously less experimental and more about an aesthetic already established.

Lovely stuff.

words can't express how much I love this...this is the show that gets me excited about NYFW and they didnt spare me any expense!! the volume, the asian influence...ugh...in heaven!:shock::boxer::mowhawk:

At first I saw the all white looks and thought it was rather bland, but as it progressed the fabrics and wonderful cuts and textures won me over  i would totally wear those oversize bombers and jackets.

Loved this collection! Great showing from them; one of their strongest in a while.

This is a great collection from them. I absolutely love how they used their inspirations in an abstract way, yet you can still see it clearly.

I feel like there's a really concise look here, there's nothing superfluous about any of this, nothing that sort of meanders through stuff. Those oversized tops with the sharp little skirts, the big jackets, the angular dresses at the end, the kimono baseball jackets...it all just looks cool and fresh.

Slouchy oversize Samurai. A strong collection but I'm surprised nobody mentioned the B word yet :innocent:

Can anybody please help me with what pre-fall collections are supposed to be for? I mean J&L's pre-fall was all about functionalism inspired by mountain climbing but it seems to bear no resemblance at all to the actual fall collection here. Can you really alter what you want to produce so dramatically in the space of a few weeks? Or perhaps I'm missing something. Can anyone see any link or common thread between their pre-fall and their fall?

Aha - maybe this - protection, combat; a link between war and sports.
Those opening looks maybe evoke Judo. Although I always thought mixing white and cream a sartorial faux pas. Mountain climbing = conquest of nature, sort of a sport but not really. Judo/martial arts = conquering the Other, sort of a sport but not really. Sports. Armour. The East.

I didn't know Balenciaga was showing in New York, good 4 Ghesquiere...
