Of course!

My friend has purple hair with pink streaks in, and she got it done at a hair salon :D

You may have to look around to find one that does it, but they do :woot:

About purple hair, has anyone tried the Color Pulse in Chilled Plum by L'Oreal? I've been curious about it for a while. Even though it says it comes out in 8-10 shampoos, I'm worried it'll wash out unevenly.

Color Pulse is fairly light, it'll be totally gone in less than two weeks.

Hey thanks alot for the answers i didn't want to seem silly by going into a hairdressers and being told "No love thats done with the cameras" lol, well yay hopefully have cool hair soon!
And no sorry i haven't tried that Paulia!

I have just put on the Red Pulse and it seems pretty bright (but not shockingly so - same as other brands' permanent red hair dyes)

(it was also a non-stinky non-mix foam, but I think you don't get as much dye as usual)

I have not washed with shampoo yet but I expect it will fade fast.

I love this kind of purple

Hey yeah that purples nice! Sorry Hipkitten, i got the picture off her from the gemma ward thread so i don't know the source other then on here!

I've just realised what those loreal pulse things are, i used one a while ago and it worked quite well, there was ALOT of mouse in it. However i think it only worked well because my hair was blonde then and i dyed it the reddy colour!

Which shampoo and conditioner would be the best at maintaining the purple dye?

I've tried every single purple hair dye there is (I'm not exaggerating, I've tried everything from L'Oréal, Schwarzkopf, Syoss, Wella, etc.) and I still haven't found one that won't fade to pale red after two weeks. It's quite frustrating. There used to be one that was pretty good, it was by Poly Brillance and the color was called Tokio Black Purple, but it was a special edition that was only available for about a year :(

My hair usually looks like this when I use "dark purple" or "plum" and what's it all called, so not really purple, more berry colored or reddish brown (my natural hair color is ash blonde):

Here's another one of my purple hair

I'm not entirely sure which dye I used in the second one because I've used so many. All I know for sure is that that it's one by Schwarzkopf because they're the only dyes that really made my hair purple.

My guess is that it was this one:

Schwarkopf Brillance Luminance, Nr.860 "ultra violet"

I also really like these and used these very often:

^^^^ Thanks for that. I currently use a red shade of Schwarzkopf's Colour Brilliance. Just wondering, did you have previously coloured hair before you applied the purple dye? I am just hoping my hair doesn't fall off/out!

Sorry to double post... But would purple shampoo (for maintaining blonde hair) also work for purple shades? I used to have white hair and when I left it in for too long, my hair would turn purple. Can anyone help me out on this?

I've been dying my hair for 13 years straight now :innocent: The last time I had my natural hair color was when I was 11 years old. I've never bleached it though, so my hair is not damaged at all from dying it so often. But I don't think you have to worry about your hair falling out or anything.

I had a mix of half a dozen hair colors in my hair when I started dying it purple. There was some black left, some dark purple, dark red, light red, light brown, red brown...yeah, a lot. But no matter what color my hair originally was, the purple dye always had the same effect (except for when my hair was all black, that would just give a purple-reddish shimmer, obviously) and it would always fade to that pale-ish red after a few weeks.

No idea about the shampoo thing either, sorry

Thanks a lot :D I stopped bleaching it about six months ago and it was pretty healthy (well, for bleached hair), so hopefully it will be okay.

anyone know of a drugstore brand in the US that is a good purple dye? i've been trying to find them and most of the ones i find are more on reddish-purple side...

I used Schwarzkopf's 'Ultra Violet' over my dyed red hair. While my hair is not exactly purple, I can't expect it to be, especially considering there is red underneath it. I have seen this dye used on some other people and their hair is definitely purple! My hair is a lot darker, but perhaps more of a burgundy colour.
