Princess Letizia, Princess Victoria Support Health Initiatives

I love to see royals getting involved in charities, groups and conferences that are health-related. They have a lot of influence, and are able to draw attention, just by their presence, to the need to support these initiatives.
Last week, Princess Victoria of Sweden and Princess Letizia of Spain attended two separate events benefiting women and people with autism, respectively.
On September 24, 2009, Princess Victoria inaugurated the new women’s clinic at the University Hospital MAS in Malmo, Sweden. The hospital provides medical services not just for residents of Malmo, but also for those in the southern region of Sweden as well.




On the same day, Princess Letizia opened the International Congress of Autism in Burgos, Spain. The meeting, which runs from September 24-26, 2009, aims to “raise social awareness of the reality of autism” and provide information on the latest in autism research, diagnosis and treatments.

Spain’s Crown Prince Felipe and Crown Princess Letizia visited the academe this week for the official opening of the school year 2009-2010. The opening was held at the Senior School Auditorium at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain.

For the visit, Princess Letizia put together an outfit that I think is a very good inspiration for university students who would like to present a professional look (instead of the usual college get-up that is jeans and t-shirts). This is also great for that first job interview!

Paisley long-sleeved shirt under a short jacket with cropped sleeves, over slim trousers. High heels and a belt with a large flower-motif buckle complete the professional feminine look.

Since we last visited her closet during the dog days of August, Spanish Princess Letizia has made the slow sartorial change into fall, with ruffles, jewels and some Michelle Obama-esque belts. On Monday, she attended a fashion reception in La Zarzuela Palace, clad in a textured white dress, black sweater, jeweled belt and strappy heels. In the last month, she's worn neck-to-toe hot pink and a series of her signature super-high sandals. Spanish Royals at National Day Celebration

The Spanish royals led the National Day celebrations in Madrid early this week.
King Juan Carlos and Crown Prince Felipe were both decked out in their military uniforms to acknowledge the parade of thousands of Spanish soldiers through the city. Above them, Air Force jets flew by and left smoke trails of red and yellow, the colors of Spain’s flag.

Queen Sofia, Princess Letizia and the Infanta Elena were also at the celebrations on October 12, 2009.
