Could someone please change the title of this topic, now that it's confirmed that the cancer is not terminal?

Well this specific cancer seems to be though...no matter how you slice it.

I went ahead & changed the title to diagnosed...he may be responding to treatment & even get better for awhile...but there is no cure for pancreatic cancer.

I really hope for the best for him, I loved every film I've seen him in! and he always appears to be ina good mood, never heard a bad thing about him, but this is just too much, its so sad.
I agree with fairy, it's a sad year in hollwood, I hope patrick pulls through somehow!

People that are diagnosed usually have about 6-9 months to live. Only 4% reach 5 years. Those are the facts...

So sad...

He's a good guy.

God, I don't know what to say...pancreatic cancer is really hard.

Dirty Dancing and Ghost are two of my favorite movies. I always thought that they were going to make a sequel of Ghost.

I was so upset to hear this, it's just awful. So sad.
I hate to be the voice of doom, but unfortunately, I know alot about pancreatic cancer as I've lost several close relatives to it, including my father who was only 52 when he passed. There is no cure and it usually spreads very quickly...and although they can try various treatments, the odds are terrible for this particular type of cancer.
However, I'm a person who always believes in miracles. Prayers to him and his family.

It's so insensitive of the media to report this, as Patrick clearly wanted this matter kept private. Must be hard enough dealing with such an illness, but now he's got the press hounding him. I really really hope he recovers, but pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all cancers. The statistics are crazy- only 15% are still alive 1 year after diagnosis. The symptoms only manifest themselves when the cancer is at an advanced stage and has spread to the rest of the body, which is why it is so tough. Best wishes to patrick and his family.

Oh man. Pancreatic cancer is my greatest health fear. My thoughts and prayers are with Patrick and his family, this has to be devastating.
