^2+2=5 was out of this world when I heard it live for the first time.. pretty surreal
casaanova, YES, I kept my tickets for wednesday!. what kind of tickets do you got?, I'm somewhere in the middle, not happy about that.. reaching pit is like reaching the stars these days, dammit. I'm just happy to go.

Well guys, 2 Radiohead shows in 3 days, Monday night in Los Angeles and Wednesday night in San Diego, the best week of my entire summer (also, my birthday was last week so this is a sort of extended celebration). So, hands down, the Hollywood Bowl show was better than the San Diego one. The energy at the LA show was just unbelievable, you could here everyone singing along to some of their most popular hits like Fake Plastic Trees and There There, and people were dancing like crazy. The set was great, they played True Love Waits, Neil Young's Tell Me Why, Go Slowly (from the 2nd In Rainbows disc) and Thom came out by himself and played Cymbal Rush from The Eraser. The Bowl arena made the songs come out sort of echo-y but that made the sound even more beautiful and mesmerizing. One of my personal favorites, Pyramid Song, had the crowd transfixed at its beautiful sound and melody. Thom's voice never faulted. Cymbal Rush also came out beautifully, and he stopped about mid way and told the audience, "Shhhhh....", and they did. Sort of.
The San Diego show was great as well, but I think they played less songs than the LA show. I had horrible seats for this show but my friends and I snuck into the seats all the way in front, behind pit, and we were glad we did because the sound is so much better up front, and the energy hits you ten times harder. When they played You and Who's Army Thom stopped while playing his solo and started laughing at himself, obviously not taking himself too seriously. He is so cute when he smiles and laughs.
Now, one of the things I enjoyed most from both shows was Thom's dancing. It's the funniest thing when he breaks out in his jig (a.k.a. "Psycho Bunny Dance"), usually during The Gloaming, Idioteque, or 15 Step. He moves in a very unique way.

. you truly lucked out with hearing that cover, it sounds pretty amazing and you can tell everyone was really into the moment.. quite frankly, I think the energy was appalling last night 
.. they did deliver a beautiful and flawless performance and spectacle (how could they not?!) but the people 
, it was hard to ignore them, seriously, I don't know what happened to Radiohead fans from San Diego!, I remember them being quite a multitude and this time around, nobody seemed to know a single line of any of the songs!, nobody yelled anything (which I kinda appreciated but still admitedly missed!), and on the shallow side (being tFS and all 
) I saw at least 3 women wearing the original mom jeans, and not in an ironic way, one of them had a mullet! .. not to mention the amount of men in hawaiian shirts, I know it's San Diego, but jeez, it didn't used to be that bad!.

Did you catch anything from Liars, casaanova?, I got so early to the show but had a rather long conversation on the parking lot and got in the venue right before Radiohead came onstage. I'm not so excited for Liars anymore but I wish I had seen at least some bit.. especially after hearing their personal sponsor at the end of the evening (thom

You totally summed up the lack of energy vibe from the SD show. The crowd was DEAD! I looked around me and saw just head bobs and boring claps. And Hawaiian shirt-clad men!! Oh and those girls who wear camis, skirts, and flip flops year round, you know which ones I'm talking about (you're a San Diegan, of course you know!). Then again, I was all the way in the back, and it was nothing like the front of the stage was much much better. And yes, I almost shed a tear at How to Disappear Completely. His voice is so serene and beautiful.
About Liars, I saw a little of their set at the Bowl show, and let me tell you, their music stinks. It sounds like an electric guitar and stick banging and a guy with an annoying voice wining (almost screaming) nonsense. So don't worry, you didn't miss a thing. Thom's "They're the best band live", no no, I don't agree.

I watched the live cast from the SB show, the Flight of the Conchords came on! They also played No Surprises, which made me mad because it seems they played that everywhere but SF

sorry, I have been without internet for a few days because I have been moving.
The show was amazing. I have to say the performance and set list was one of the best since the 2001 show at the Hollywood Bowl. Unfortunately, the guys behind us thought they were at a frat party (I think all the beer they drank and the you know-what-they smoked made them forget it was a Radiohead concert) but it didn't damper the evening.
Thom forgot the words to two songs, Faust Arp and Street Spirit (the only song they played off The Bends), but it was funny when Thom stopped in the middle of Street Spirit.
Also, they did rearrangements to the songs off of HttT and they were great.

I was underwhelmed by Liars as well. I don't know if I thought they sucked, I didn't pay enough attention to their music enough to know if it sucked, but their music and performance wasn't strong enough to fill a venue like the Bowl.
BTW, did anyone get a shirt? I got the "You used to be alright what happened" one in the black.
^ No, I didn't get a shirt because I thought it wasn't worth 45 dollars. I would have spent that much if I liked the shirt, but none of them impressed me this year. I did buy a poster though, the limited edition In Rainbows Tour one.
