Radiohead

You totally summed up the lack of energy vibe from the SD show. The crowd was DEAD! I looked around me and saw just head bobs and boring claps. And Hawaiian shirt-clad men!! Oh and those girls who wear camis, skirts, and flip flops year round, you know which ones I'm talking about (you're a San Diegan, of course you know!). Then again, I was all the way in the back, and it was nothing like the front of the stage was much much better. And yes, I almost shed a tear at How to Disappear Completely. His voice is so serene and beautiful.

About Liars, I saw a little of their set at the Bowl show, and let me tell you, their music stinks. It sounds like an electric guitar and stick banging and a guy with an annoying voice wining (almost screaming) nonsense. So don't worry, you didn't miss a thing. Thom's "They're the best band live", no no, I don't agree. :yuk:
Ah good to know, I did use to enjoy their music , about 2 or 3 years ago but the material they kept releasing only got harder for me to get into so I just quit them. Glad I didn't miss much..

I'm sure the energy was a thousand times better in the pit area!, they were the ones that didn't mind jumping and seemed to know who the hell was Jonny.
I don't know why I always end up surrounded by people who didn't sweat it much and probably won their seats on a random morning radio show contest. bleh.

and no, I'm not from SD, I'm from Baja!, but yes, the girls.. I completely know what you're talking about!, the moment I walked into the show, I got flashes of this:

^ Oh my GOD!!!!!! That picture is so perfect. That is exactly EXACTLY what i was referring too. "Omigawd, I love In Rainbowwwwwsss!"

casaanova... I can't believe you heard them play Pyramid Song. That must have been amazing! and I have to agree about Thom's crazy dance, it is really quite special!

Oh I just joined and am so glad to see fellow Fashion Spotters love Radiohead as much as I do! I could tear up just thinking about how amazingly beautiful their music is...

I'm pretty sure I just recovered from post-concert depression from their Toronto tour date. It's been a month. baha

BBC 6 Music has news of Radiohead's next album. The article states that the band are in the process of writing a new album, with Colin saying that they would be heading back in to the studio after they have completed their current world tour.
Ed chimed in: "We're still talking about doing some stuff and we're really excited about it. First we came off tour to do some writing and we wanted to just carry on doing it because it was so brilliant."
We completely agree with Stereogum in that this article was written pretty poorly and has since sparked other sites to misinterpert the news. Case in the point: Variety is reporting that the band have already finished most of the album and will finish it off in Japan. This is from a quote that Colin said in the 6 Music article: "We've finished the main bulk of it and we're off to Japan in a couple of weeks to finish it off."
Colin is talking about the tour, not the album. We all know that the band have been on tour for a good chunk of 2008 and while it's possible that they could be sneaking off to studios here and there, it's very unlikely.
Anyway, it's exciting to know that another album will happen and that the band are excited about it. It's just not going to happen as quickly as 6 Music misinterpreted it to be.

Interesting. Having pleased with crowd with all the songs that were expected to be released and putting them in In Rainbows I & II, I hope they get obnoxiously experimental on the next album, I miss the challenging side of their music.
Anyway, great news. Thanks for posting, Casaanova!.

^ You said it. They need to bring an explosion of a CD with a completely unique style, like Kid A was back in the day. We'll just have to be patient and wait...who knows how long it will be this time, but its always worth it!

i hear they might have an album out by next year. they've even started recording!- soo exciting. the japan tour starts tomorrow too :)
