Ralph Lauren F/W 2022.23 New York

The eveningwear both men's and women's are very sophisticated and tasteful, and I guess Mr. Lauren must have designed the clothes with his clients in mind: they come from old momey and have a lavish lifestyle.

I'm so much more interested in and in love with a brand like Ralph Lauren these days than all other luxury brands.

Not only is he immune to trends and seemingly uninterested in chasing fickle, tacky tweens, but his clothes are impeccably made on top of that. There's very, very few brands left that have the same commitment to real quality and savoir faire. Don't believe me? Go to a Ralph Lauren flagship store...everything is beyond sumptuous. The best materials. The best craftsmanship. Every detail is considered. And everything is so easy. Nothing tricky. Nothing complicated. And to pull that off is actually the trickiest, most complicated feat. You can't help but want everything when you're in his flagships. You want to live that life.

casting was incredible.
I did like the last part of the show, pure sleek elegance, well done.
quintessential Ralph Lauren and that’s how it should be.

I not only fully agree with the above but it kind of grates me how nobody tells that both RL and Armani still do well, business-wise, maybe because it's not functional to the whole "only-rich-kidz-shop-nowadays" narrative relentlessly pushed by marketing honchos. It's like shoppers not belonging to the millennial demographic have been wiped out of the conversation entirely. It's a lie, obviously.

It's just that older and more psychologically mature customers are less easily lured into buying the horrid overpriced logo-ed merchandise that brands rely on to reach those astronomical turnovers. You do not make that much money selling only taste, I am afraid. And the suits know it, of course.

Wtf was that opening look - it’s giving Florida outlet mall - should never have been on any runway. What have they done to gigis hair also she looks older than laetitia casta!
Such a pleasure to see Tyson again

Fabulous Ralph Lauren collection. This is great! Very focused, slightly cheesy but handled with so much precision and confidence that you can’t not love it.

It’s all so well made and well presented. Ralph is one of the kings if not the ultimate king of lifestyle. And there are fabulous pieces that would appeal to the large range of customers of the brand (even those who can’t afford this).
I love the cast. The male models are really the stars (the guy with the dreads!!!).
And I love the promise of this brand: Everybody is welcomed in the world of Ralph Lauren…

Let’s step back a minute and say that Armani and Ralph Lauren still makes the big part of their revenues thanks to the Polo RL, Emporio Armani/Armani Exchange that are sold in all the outlets and malls of the world. But what maybe separates Ralph from all the brands is the consistency of his storytelling.

Ralph Lauren is probably the only brand that can sell to his top range of customers products from his flagship, mainstream line to his most high-end, exclusive brand. You can buy a simple polo or sweater from the Polo line and a suit from his Collection line without your perception of the brand being altered.

Armani sells the luxury to the elite with the Couture. Ralph sells the idea of luxury to everybody.

Ralph knows his clientele but more than that, he knows himself.

Classy stuff, as always!
RL doesn't need noise or fanfare, just let's the clothes speak for themselves. Presentation, garments and cast are always harmonious.

It's unfair to place AX and Emporio on the same level, the latter is more expensive than the former and I do not think it's so easy to find it discounted in malls, unlike Polo or AX.
Regardless of this, my point is that both Armani and RL do pretty well with their more expensive collections, especially in the menswear segments, and it's kind of taken for granted, when it shouldn't be.

Elegant, classic, timeless. Ralph never misses a beat. As @dior_couture1245 mentioned above, stepping into the New York Flagship store- after buying a cup of “Ralph’s” Coffee- you are instantly immersed in a world of pure luxury and class. The top floor displays the runway collections, I always look forward to visiting whenever I find myself on Madison Avenue.

Ralph is one of the only designers whose collection I can sit and watch it fully without feeling annoyed or disgusted, to put it frankly. What I enjoy most is his willingness to accept the modern woman. Someone mentioned his “ability to not follow trends”, but I disagree. He sees a trend, embraces it, and scales it to a level of sublime luxury. Look 44 displays this perfectly on Gigi. The cutouts in the dress are perfect, and the moment she turned to display her bare back my jaw neerly hit the floor.

Ralph, thank you for not only shining a spotlight on New York, but for continuing to not comprise. He is an international treasure.

I see your point. I guess I meant it more from the viewpoint of - we’re not seeing trendy stuff from Ralph…there isn’t a linebacker-shouldered jacket here, logo bags, or an ugly sneaker here, for example.

But I would agree with you, though, in the sense that he still manages to make his collections feel “current,” yet never at the expense of timelessness. That’s always a real feat on his part, and a very delicate balance. I feel like he treads it far better than Armani, for example, who’s collections now almost always feel juuuuust a hair on the dated side.
