Okay guys, where can I find a real fur coat for under $1000? I need one soon because the colder it gets the more the prices go up. Any suggestions would be nice, thanks

The best place to look for a real fur coat for that price is from second hand shops... I saw a real fur coat at a second hand shop for 10 euros :woot: but it was in really bad shape. Just visit every SH shop that is near you as many times you can because they get new products all the time. My friend (well my friends friends friend) found this amazing long fur coat from a SH shop and it was only 200 euros and it was in mint condition.

Hey High M! - what type of fur do you want? You can certainly get some decent furs in secondhand shops, but there are some decent (and fairly cheap) ones on this site - http://www.overstockfurs.com/

(I've been thinking about a fur bag from them for a while - seem to have bit of a sale on).

I must confess I wouldn't be without mine for the winter!!!

What type are you after?

Yeah second-hand shops have amazing deals on fur. Plus you're not killing another animal B)

Maybe like a brown mink or a fox fur, I really don't want a black one because its to understated, I want a beautiful brown or caramel colored one. I kinda wanted a full length, but I'll take a short one for now, crawl before you walk:D

Aah, good choice High M. I like your style!

I did a little searching for you (furstly coz I am bored and secondly thinking of one myself - probably sheared fur though) - and found these 2 which might be of interest to you?

www.******** - click on shopping and then fur exchange - might just come up trumps for you?

And this one - http://www.furoutlet.com/engine.asp?Category=WOMENS-FUR-JACKETS

I prefer the second link myself - coz pics available!

Why thank you^_^ I appreciate you doing some of the grunt work for me I have been looking everywhere on the net. Iam getting ready to check these links out, thanks

I've found beautiful shearling styles, one rust-coloured maxi 70's coat with a shawl collar for $40 CND!

So to answer the question, vintage shops and shows, flea markets seem like the only option. Although, most vintage fur is in bad condition.

If you have the money, you can use the rest of the $1000 to have it reworked! I think it's a stellar idea!

Girl, please, I would rock that sh*t everyday, well maybe not everyday, but on those toasty mornings when you have your cup of coffee and a fab bag, listen you will feel like a million bucks. A mink coat is so f*ckin fab that you can wear it whenever you want, what can people say? Don't care about what people say, they just can't stand how fab you look:wink:

Fur is really out. No one can make it look good without thinking "Verusckha"

I do like a fur vest and matching hat for like skiing, because its sporty. But in general fur adds far too much bulk. I think it is tacky as well, it simply cannot be pulled off.

What a hopeless thing to say! Sure, I think "Verushka" as well, but only when I'm back on the Moscow Metro. Fur can be shaven, knit, and the cuts have changed. Look at what Lanvin and Prada are doing. And nothing is as luxurious and modest at the same time as broadtail!

Fur is never 'out'. It is, and will remain a classic.
