The reason I left a while ago is cause I ran across the street to Jezebel's which is the closest vintage store I have around, and I got the faux beading, and I saw this gorgeous slim and very long vintage clutch with gold lock and peach silk lining...only for five dollars... I think Ill go back in a while and get it

I  your idea Scott, by the way, do you handsew or you have a machine??
I do everything by hand. I do! I was never comfortable in front of a machine at all. I grew up around all this crafty stuff(mostly handwork) so it comes naturally for me.

That is great to know, Im scared to death of sewing machines, especially the industrial ones that I have to use... I sew by hand also, which I think its more preciated than a 15 minute labour in a machine...

That jacket is really beautiful! it looks like YSL spring summer 04!

There's just something about machines that intimidate me-kind of complicated in a way especially if you're not too familiar.

Prince*,simple is definitely the best canvas for experimenting on. I'm using an old pillowcase to concoct my scarf creation on right now :P

I was thinking about doing a coat thing myself. Not really for embroidery but I was wanting to cut out seams and reconstruct this black coat that was my fathers--its extremely baggy and shapeless. The shoulder area and the side seams. Not sure if that requires a machine but I might try it by hand even if it does take a while. Anyway,I thought about attaching tea stained lace to the cuffs and maybe at the shoulder to give it sort of an Edwardian-buried beneath the soil-feel. I want the shape to kind of flare out beneath the hip. Its this volume thing I adore-fitted at top a little fuller(still narrow,of course)at the bottom. Now that I think,I might add some straight stitching along the back and that the cuff to give a little outlining and some extra "oomph".
