Kiedis named his son after favourite band
Red Hot Chilli Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis
Red Hot Chilli Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis has said that he named his first child after his favourite rock band.
The By The Way star told People magazine that he had named his son Everly, due to his liking for 50s group,
the Everly Brothers.
He added that his girlfriend Heather Christie thought of the baby's second name, Bear, which he said he liked because of the 'earthy' feel of the word.
Speaking about the process of picking the baby's name, the rocker said: "We had a long list of names, but I suppose it came to me by way of the Everly Brothers, which is one of my favourite bands."
He added: "
The mama came up with Bear. That made sense to me because he's from me and I feel like I'm part of the bear clan, and I think it's nice to have a little bit of earth in your name."
Asked about how becoming a father was affecting his lifestyle, the 44-year-old musician replied: "Being a father is different, it's much different. I sleep when I can, but he's letting me off pretty easy so far. He's a very calm and peaceful kid."
