yeah people normally don't like the more "intresting looing models", my friend said the same thing when i showed her a picture of Gemma, she also said Daria loos like a squirrel a little harsh i think!

Most of my friends would agree with the list here but some don't even kno who kate moss is; which is insane to me!

I've been calling Daria a squirrel, too...

The List was accurate........

Naomi and Kate the biggest names in modelling, and Heidi is too. But Gisele Bundchen is becoming the most popular among the younger crowd, and the Biggest earner in history. Adriana is well loved by men and boys and young spoiled snotty girls, for some reason, LOL.

Daria? Gemma? come on folks, nobody really knew them! Just because you guys knew them doesn't mean, the rest of the guys in the mall do.

It all depends on who their audience is. If it's mostly men - they will pick the SI chicks. If it's mostly girls, they'll go with Daria, Kate and possibly Gisele. It kind of looks like they tried to do both.

Sucks. The fashion world really has moved on from these girls. They only do Voctoria's Secret these days and Naomi occasionally does a runway. There is nothing correct about this list.

That is why this not a correct list. This is a lost of the top 5 richest and most famous models. Not a top 5 of actual models who get the most jobs in the industry. As long as Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima don't do anything more than Victoria's Secret and Sport Illustrated, I do not see them as working models, but only as another Hollywood victim. Gemma and Daria are the models in the real fashion industry right now.

The list is accurate. People who watch VH1 would have no idea who Gemma or Diara are. I can hear them now - "those are models?!!! I thought models were supposed to pretty." Adriana Lima and Heidi appeal to the public generally. Remember, supermodels to ordinary folk translates as celebrity.

actually i think the list is pretty accurate, these have the most mainstream appeal. If there was No 6 then probably Karolina would have taken it

Also, they only mostly talked about Victoria's Secret models, so it doesn't surprise me. Does anyone even consider them fashion models? They only walk the vicotoria's secret runways, and their clothes are cheesy. We should make our own top 5 models list (maybe it will be less male-based).

My working definition of what the mainstream perceives as a supermodel today is any model that's famous enough to be talked about on Entertainment Tonight or Access Hollywood. Therefore I think this list is accurate for VH-1's purposes.

However I'm not discrediting any of the work these five have done (and do) except for maybe Heidi, she's sort of the odd woman out in terms of Tier One jobs besides VS and SI. I realize those are two massive gigs for me to be besiding. My point is that, save for Heidi, the other four have done it all.

^ yeah american models aren't really popular right now really and Canada is somewhat, the brazillian craze is still going strong tho,(i.e. Adriana and Gisele)
