if price can make anything become ART, I believe we can now say Avedon is an artist. Since Dior has recently buy the famous Dovina with elephants @ Christie's for ... 841 000 EUROS (+ $1, 110, 000)
this is a record for : a picture of Avedon, a photograph from this period, a picture sold in France.

The Avedon Fondation has sold @ Christies FR 65 pictures of the photographer (Avedon). Good ! The whole auction brought 5,400,000 EUROS ($7,500,000).
Dior bought 5 pictures (...), Gagosian 2 portraits of Andy Warhol.
