cas- i love that jacket!!

Does anyone have any experience ordering from the RO store in Paris from the US?? I'm going to call them tomorrow about that jacket

I have dealt with them on multiple occasions. If you can, ask for Barbara, she speaks perfect English and is very helpful.

Only problem with ordering from them and having them ship to you is the shipping charge is close to $100 and it doesn't matter how much or how little you order. But, it's well worth it if you can't find that piece anywhere else.

I saw a few Rick Owens pieces a few weeks ago while in London and i love the layering idea like with the tank tops and i also like the tops with long sleeves to go over the tanks.
Do his leather jackets tend to run out as soon as they come into stores? as i tried one on and fell in love with it however it will be a few more weeks before i can get back to London to try it on again!
tia

No, you should have no problem finding a leather jacket somewhere in Europe, whether it be London or having it shipped from Paris, you should be good. His leathers are excellent though!

i know the one i tried on was lovely! it had a round neck in black leather thinking about it now it must be a standard style.
I also saw in another shop another style in a very worn leather which was different but not really my style. Is there any place on the net where to see the different styles? i have seen the one on LVR but thats not the one i saw.
Thanks for your reply.

Check out brownsfashion.com (just added two new jackets for SS08). Also, matchesfashion.com has some jackets up in their lookbook.

Thanks Casius. That was really helpful i think this is the jacket i am after.
It was very slim fitting. Do you happen to know if this jacket is re-issued every season?

^I have that jacket, its amazing. I believe he does it perennially. The problem is that it seems retailers don't make a true commitment to Rick's classics, they buy them like they are seasonal and then randomly decide to only do the actual seasonals some seasons. So despite the fact that there are a group of styles that he constantly does, the stores do not constantly have them. Its irritating.

MJ, would it be possible for you to post some pics of yourself wearing it?
I am not sure on what size to get i tried on a med, however i didn't check to see if i could so it up! but i do know they are meant to be very fitted.

Yea, he does do that one each season. It is true that a lot of stores change up between what they carry from Rick. I will say though, stores like Atelier and Maxfield typically buy similar items each season because they know what their customer likes. But some place like Barneys on the other hand, will typically buy different jackets, tops, etc to get a differentiation from the season/s past.

Cas--- Barney's was exactly what I was thinking about with the schitzo buying paterns.

Empaulio, I will take some pics and post soon. (maybe in the next hour, if not tomorrow). Just for reference, however, I have the small, and wish it was slightly tighter (so size down if you can, unfortunately I could not find it in an XS, otherwise I would have).

Yea, I guess it's good and bad. Sometimes you can find some items there that other stores don't risk picking up and other times it's just the blandest of items.

Here's to hoping Barneys makes/has made a good buy for Fall!!!

Thanks MJCouture, did you find that your jacket became slightly larger with wear? The only leather jacket i own is a shearling. I could imagine a leather jacket to wear in and 'give' slightly, is this correct?

OK, I am going to take pics within the next half hour, I have had a stupidly busy day today and totally forgot to just now.

Empaulio, yes it has stretched considerably, mostly in the arms (especially because I love wearing it with chunky sweaters underneath).

Thanks for your help.
cannot wait to see the pics! Hopefully next week i will be going to london i just hope i can find 1!

So here is an old picture (taken on my crappy quality phone) I took of the jacket. I will take a better one tomorrow, I was really too tired tonight. If you are trying to size this, this jacket is a size small and I am wearing a sweater underneath. AND I am 5'7 and very thin.

Thanks for posting that MJCouture, it gives me a bit of a better idea of how it looks on, as when i tried it on i did not look in a mirror! and on the picture that i posted it looks a bit tight on the model.

^^i like your whole look. v.nice!

has anyone taken any steps to waterproof their jackets or does that play with the colouring? Has anyone been caught in the rain wearing their jacket? Is it ok?

Yeah... it is OK... as long as it's not pouring I have caught mine in light showers (unavoidable in London rly)

I'm thinking of getting mine tailored... I would like it a bit more fitted..has anyone had their altered?
