I have the same jacket in black justlooking it's such a fantastic piece that you will wear and love for years. :flower:

Thanks skot4mc, velony, augustus and pucci. I've been on a high all yesterday and today. haha.

velony i'm in tokyo right now and got it at a big department store called Isetan in Shinjiku. Apparently someone ordered it and didn't end up getting it. In my dreams i wanted black but i don't really suit it in leather i don't think. They had a few other styles in black like the one posted on the previous page. gosh, i looked pretty terrible in that.

justlooking- i am obsessed with that one.. do you know the model name of it or anything?

alimi, i'm not sure of the name. until next week i won't see the tag to find out the name but hopefully pucci or augustus can help you out...

i'm going to call around to see if there's a black so if i find out the name i'll let you know...

alimi, don't know if this is the item number but the tag inside my jacket reads: RO 1743 /LP.

hmmm...i'm a bit hmmm about my purchase. I went to pick it up today and the inner knitted bit at the end of the arm (gosh i'm so bad at being descriptive...) that attaches to the leather...on one side, one of the loops of the top thread had worn away...

...so my jacket is at the repairers ... already.
...the shop girl was apologising ...profusely...i was so embarassed...
...and then i forgot to take my passport to get my tax refund...
...so nothing went right today haha...

I believe you're talking about the ribbed cuffs. Don't be affraid to ask for a refund if you're not satisfied, no point in having a jacket that doesn't satisfy you. Leather jackets are something you keep for a long time and your look is better on the long run if instead of having a bunch of them you have 1-2 that become highlights of your overall style.

thanks for your advice Fuuma. :flower:
I thought about it but i love it a lot and it really fits into my wardrobe.
The repair is free thankfully.

glad it worked out just looking, i have the same jacket in black leather with grey fleece lining, and I love it, it's just so easy to throw on and look great in. it isn't a winter jacket, but with a warm sweater underneath it's pretty good. hope you like it!

I was just at Barney's today and saw that their buyers had their work cut out for them-as far as menswear goes-this season. Which makes me super happy!

They are carrying an Owens super long asymmetrical short-sleeve striped shirt for $340. I was debating getting it on the spot, since the price tag seemed unusually high. Naturally, I logged on to LVR when I got home and lo and behold, they too are carrying the shirt, in a long sleeved version, for 259 euros (or roughly $375). Has anyone seen the shirt elsewhere and can confirm that the price is about right before I get it? I know it's common Barney's practice to have huge mark-ups on certain pieces. Maybe atelier?

^ I am wondering the exact same thing... I just bought a goat suede jacket from s/s and it was $2800!! I was so surprised by the price because that's so much even for RICK OWENS!! have you seen any of the suede jackets???

Yes, that is the correct price. I paid $380 for it from Atelier.

Can you give a rundown of what else you saw from Rick Owens at Barneys? I'm really curious what they decided to pick up this season.

Also, if you're interested, Oki-ni has the s/s shirt for 155pounds. But be careful ordering if you're in the US, you'll get hit with a hefty customs charge.

Marcj, I had the shirt in my hand and was walking around to see if anything else caught my attention. I didn't think anything of the price until I walked over into the Dries section and saw that the super sheer multi-colored cardigan they have on browns for $650 is going at Barney's for about $770. I don't mind paying, especially for Owens, but I would rather not support such insane mark-ups. Casius seems to have cleared that up though.

Which jacket did you go for? Was it this one?

Casius, I had a feeling that would be a possibility...

Shops that have certain pieces for less will still add those extra charges making it the same if not more than the ones I've already seen. I'll probably just end up purchasing it from Barney's, the instant gratification being a super plus!

Also, in regards to your question: as I mentioned, they have a pretty substantial buy this season. More than I've ever seen there at one time in fact. They were pretty well covered as far as basics since they're carrying the extra long asymmetrical Ts in black, white, the one with stripes and a sort of rust color. Surprisingly, they're also carrying the jacket above; really supple in person. As far as shoes, they have the high top sneakers below in both white and black.

I don't remember their price exactly, but something like $1,340.

^ hey, i posted some pics in the shopaholics thread... it is a lot like the first one, looks like the same color of suede. But i know Barneys is notoriously for randomly marking **** up and I certainly dont want to support that. The jacket was $2765, which seems kind of high. I would really appreciate it if anyone knows if that's accurate or not. :)

marc- That is accurate. His leathers range anywhere from $2400-3200 depending. I'm also assuming with the ever decreasing dollar, the prices are a bit more than even last season.

Drivershigh- Thank you for the rundown. I'm going to give them a call and see what pieces they have. I'm really hoping they picked up some of the knits and pants for the season. There are some awesome knits with striped sleeves that I'm hoping to find...I have a feeling I'm gonna have to order from Paris though.

casius is right about the price range.

i recently saw the suede in the same style but for the ladies and it was 290 000 yen which is around the 2700 mark i think.

although i think nap had leather jackets for 1775US ..so i read last season. which i decided to ignore ...if it's true...

The price range actually starts a bit under $2400. Some of the really simple ones start at like $1900.

Yea, definitely call them up. Sorry for the bad description. I was too enthralled by the fact that they're carrying his Ts to notice much else. I don't remember seeing knits though. May be wrong.
