HE's very much a specialised taste , Soft , and I admire his refusal to ' sell out ' . B)

*scott you know who much i'm fed up with the repetition of styles in the 'indie' scene ..and yes, i always ask for too much, can't escape that :ninja:
Lena,I know exactly how you feel. But somehow,I don't mind when something is in tune with other people's work(there are lots of that going round anyway)as long as its not totally blatant or the work of a copy-cat. I think it just maybe a taste many share within the indie world. Nothing wrong with that and one can't(and shouldn't) stop his or her niche because everyone else is doing it. And to be honest,on the London scene what he does seems to be quite unorthodox compared with the many based there. Like,Jessica Ogden,Preen & Shelley Fox;I believe are the only ones who really share this in common with him. So perhaps its not as common there as we think.

excuses, i dont think he's in the same league.. anyway, i think i've already said my word on this designer :ninja:

The word "love" does not come to mind, but I find this at least interesting. Though I hear the complaints that he's working within a particular style that many others seem to work within as well, I still quite like some of it. Its main fault is that it seems too specific in a way...like ONLY the designer could understand some of the choices that are made.

I like the dresses that look like shiny pieces of trash

I don't like the womenswear in S/S 2005, however. His flirtation with wearability/trend went too far...

I mean most of the rest of it is OK, but it just seems too palatable and boring to me.

I wouldn't really call him a great designer...I've seen his stuff in some strange shops...:S

It's more sportswear than anything once it's off the catwalk...

S/S 05 was a complete disappointment for sure, cerfas. Thankfully,he jumped back with this latest one...so much stronger to me.

A/W 04 is my favourite so far though.

Did you find A/W 2004 to be disturbing? The scars drawn onto the bodies of some of the male models really freaked me out, it made all the contraptions look sinister and like instruments of torture or something evil.

At first it did. But when I started looking at it a couple more times,it didn't bother me so much. I know Robert has a rugged military/farming background so it may just be connected with that.

Hm, that's really interesting, Scott. Thanks for the new perspective.

Do any of our London insiders know what's been happening with him lately? i know he had some troubles but i haven't heard anything in a while and i am missing his collections miserably,to be quite honest.
