I actually love this collection. So many pieces remind me of their previous works. Intricate, complex and beautiful!!!!!!!!

With the first look I thought ok librarian chic... then the latter gowns were a bit too light for my taste and this being a FW collection, then it dived into a major Prada/Prada styling strut while ending with Nicholas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga.

It just keeps getting uglier and more incoherent.... from the beginning they were just amateurs with a trashionista aesthetic who were heavily "inspired" by the Balenciaga/Kaisik Wong type pieces, but the handiwork was interesting enough. However, when the collage thing became exhausted, that's when the provincialism, the lack of tailoring skills and shoddy design really surfaced. They're one of the most hyped acts out there, to the detriment of other better emerging talents.

you know i made that comment a couple years ago,just as soon as they began evolving that we would likely see exposed just how lacking their skill-level really is and frankly it shows in a big way but i also believe their ideas have become very limited and like you said,incoherent. and i admit i liked what they did early on with the knits and unconventional handcrafts and just the overall tone of their work in those days. but it's gone downhill since they moved away from it. and i completely agree…for all the talented designers out there,even a few in NYC,how does the media begin to justify all the hype around these two? it's a shame to me the way the industry is running….it's worse than it was a decade ago…..they're too busy concentrating and building personalities they have completely abandoned the point….genuine talent.

Yes, a few of us here were skeptical about what they did even in those heydays when they were hyped to the stratosphere by Anna Wintour, Tavi and the legions of gushing fashion bloggers. It's not because the collage/patchwork artisan pieces weren't beautiful (I really liked the leather patchwork pieces), but because they were derivative, and those that weren't derivative, eg regular coats, jackets, separates, were so shockingly badly cut, tailored, matched and designed they really made you question if its not some work by etsy amateurs. Without the possibility of resending patchwork projects down the runway, the severe lacking in taste, design skills, tailoring, etc., really comes through. I hope they did try to catch up with the cred that they earned, but the awfulness of their designs, taste and collections is baked, it seems. While not entirely original, Wang, P&S, etc. at least delivered competent collections. Reed Krakoff is so much better, yet he was hardly noticed until these seasons. There must be so many more in the US like him.

This is incredibly good. The quality of their clothing is always superlative... those halter coats? The best I have seen in a long time.

The runway set was inspired by Star Wars too. Paris based special events company, Bureau Betak was engaged to create these lightsaber-like fixtures for the show.
