Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was every inch the quintessential English…erm…rose at the launch of her lingerie line – Rosie For Autograph – at the Mark’s & Spencer’s store on Oxford Street, London, this morning.

For the event, the model/actress (who looked even more beautiful in real life) chose a Marks & Spencers black, leather-paneled peplum dress from the department store’s Autograph collection, which she paired with a double-stranded black and burgundy belt, highlighting her tiny waist. She finished off this classic look with barely-there make-up, flowing golden locks and a pair of grey and nude stiletto pumps.

During the launch, Rosie, alongside Soozie Jenkinson (Mark’s & Spencer’s head of design for lingerie), showcased some of her favourite pieces from the 33-strong collection. The line, which is available from today, is inspired by her love of the 20s and features luxurious lace, silk and scalloped details. Here is how she describes it in her own words.

On her inspiration: “I was particularly drawn to the opulent elegance of the 20s era which really shows in my designs from the sumptuous silks I chose to the intricate deco inspired embroidery detailing on the garments.”

On the colour palette: “The palette was not only inspired by my favourite 20s pieces, but also it was largely influenced by the rich colours of different types of roses. From the muted tones of dusky pink and green through to dramatic scarlet blooms, I wanted the palette to evoke the beauty of a gorgeous British garden in Summer.”

On making all women feel gorgeous: “I also drew on my experiences as a model to create lingerie pieces that work on the body and are as comfortable to wear as they are beautiful. My goal was to create a luxurious collection which could flatter women of all ages and sizes, inspiring confidence and making women feel gorgeous in their lingerie. I made sure each design incorporated different shapes of bra and knicker together with camis and kimonos to complement the figure.”

I met her at today! She was so sweet - very humble, and she signed my magazine.

Saw her a few months ago in Liberty London and believe me...she's even more beautiful! Possibly the most beautiful person I've ever seen. Stunning.

The collection looks much better in the press shoots than it does in reality.

Rosie looks great, not crazy about the dress, but her hair and makeup look fabulous.

^ That dress is fantastic!

Also love her red strappy heels above. I assume Celine?

I bought the rose print bra from her collection today, it's really beautiful and well made. The whole collection is lovely, I hope she does more designing!
