MILAN ? After a two-year hiatus, Ruffo owner Giacomo Corsi is relaunching the brand, as well as the Ruffo Research experimental line.

With new management in place, Corsi is finalizing an agreement with a designer who will be in charge of the Ruffo Research line, while Ruffo will be designed by an in-house team. Corsi also plans to reopen the brand’s shuttered Milan boutique off Via Montenapoleone.

Ruffo in the past has supplied leatherwear to designers such as Prada, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli, but was hit hard by low-cost competition and outsourcing.

Ruffo Research was introduced in 1998 and suspended in 2003... "

also they were to produce helmut lang's perforated leather briefs, but the plan fell through, which might have been a good thing.

I think of a few persons including non fashion designer I wish to take on post of creative director for research line.

I guess they still have some tisci's designs yet to be realized.

oh fab news. i always enjoyed ruffo research...particularly when a.f. vandevorst and alexandre matthieu was designing.
