hey guys, any ideas for music for an all black collection, inspired by motorcycles and the elizabethan era? i need something dramatic and powerful and good to walk under on the catwalk.
id reeeeally appreciate some ideas, thanks ppls :)

Maybe some stuff by The Stone Roses? I wanna be adored... That song could be appropriate... Some stuff by Massive Attack... Or even some Queen?

first thing that came to mind was Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.......but even better is their influence Jesus and Mary Chain (perfect song Motorbike).....throw in some Bauhaus.....maybe a little Joy Division......even NIN......and the above mentioned Stone Roses song:heart: and have a great DJ remix it all spliced with heavy, dark Classical music....can't think of anything off the top of my head as far as Classical...............

^excellent suggestions,purechris*

Perhaps, also some early Siouxsie....anything from "The Scream" would be good,I think. Hmmm...Einsturzende Neubauten with Blixa Bargeld.....Cocteau Twins' "Treasure"....could be be great to emphasise the Elizabethan.

Cocteau Twins...great call!!
Sisters of Mercy?

The Sisters Of Mercy (especially This Corrosion)
Dead Can Dance
Siouxsie And The Banshees
Bauhaus
Joy Division

chamber music  perfect!!!

Sisters of Mercy.......I had on cassette:lol:.....what were they before......or maybe after.....where did Mission UK fall?........that would be good too.

My personal fav that would actually work here, but might be gimmicky "halloween" by Ministry:heart:
 now I think I'm going to have to go to Virgin after work.......................

ETA--and completely OT.........what record is "Everyday is Halloween" on?

/\ Ministry might be hard to swallow for any show .

Lots of good suggestions. Definitely mix some sweeping classical mixed in - I wish I could hear how F/W 05 Ann Demeulemeester show SOUNDED.

How about Marylin Manson's "This is the new sh*t?" It's perfect, I think. The music is very dynamic and exciting, and the lyrics,

" Everything has been said before
There's nothing left to say anymore
When it's all the same
You can ask for it by name

Babble babble b*tch b*tch
Rebel rebel party party
Sex sex sex and don't forget the "violence"
Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely
Stick your STUPID SLOGAN in:
Everybody sing along.

Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely
Stick your STUPID SLOGAN in:
Everybody sing,
Are you motherfuckers ready
For the new sh*t?
Stand up and admit,
tomorrow's never coming.
This is the new sh*t.
Stand up and admit.
Do we get it? No.
Do we want it? Yeah.
This is the new sh*t,
Stand up and admit.

And now it's "you know who"
I got the "you know what"
I stick it "you know where"
You know why, you don't care.

The Mission Uk was after The Sisters Of Mercy "split up" in 1985.

And are you talking about Type O Negative's "Black No. 1", cuz I've seen that song mislabeled as "Everyday is halloween" quite a few times...

I've got a video part of the show and I'm pretty sure they used the original soundtrack. It sounded very light, almost angelic, which went perfectly with the collection. I can send you the vid (along with the shows from 2001-on) if you want. ;)

Faust, you mean the Goldfrapp remix of This is the new Sh*t? That'd had have nice sound actually cause they remixed in the way they did their song "Train"....very mechanical/industrial.

never heard the remix, but sounds cool. i'll check that out.

i would say play swans, or the mysterious skin soundtrack, by robin guthrie from cocteau twins, beautifully, hauntingly dark
