The style set has been hooked on Sacai for years, but it wasn’t until recently that designer Chitose Abe became a major influencer. With signatures like mashed-up prints and textures, trompe l’oeil techniques, and inventive—yet remarkably wearable—silhouettes, everyone from J.Crew to storied fashion houses are looking to her for inspo. She’s capitalizing on all that buzz with her first-ever advertising campaign, which debuts exclusively here. Shot by Craig McDean and styled by Karl Templer, the Julia Nobis-fronted images will launch in major print publications next month. “I’m excited to be able to create a campaign image for the first time that captures the essence and spirit of Sacai,” Abe told Style.com. The full-spread ads include front and back views of key Spring ’15 looks. “For me, movement has always been critical to the collection, as my idea of ‘hybrid’ pieces is most powerful when seen from different perspectives, with the woman surprising you as she turns and her look transforms. Julia Nobis captures the spirit of femininity mixed with a kind of ‘street’ cool, and that’s always been at the heart of my vision.”
