To say that I wasn't in a hurry to watch Love Story would actually be putting it mildly. After all, it belongs to the "American Story" franchise - i.e. the work of Ryan Murphy, whose projects tend to attract as much controversy and criticism as they do attention, and which simply isn't my cup of tea.
However, thanks largely to the media buzz surrounding one particular name that has suddenly become a hot commodity these days in both cinema and fashion, I finally watched the first episode - and somehow managed to stop, because I'm waiting for the season finale so I can indulge in a proper binge-watch. And to say that I'm obsessed would be an understatement. I honestly can't remember the last time I was so fascinated by a new (fashion) It girl as I am by Sarah Pidgeon!
Her masterful embodiment of 1990s style icon Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, both on-screen and off, is utterly captivating. The way she channels CBK's minimalist, "lived-in luxury" aesthetic while subtly blending it with modern styling cues is simply irresistible.
So, with tonight's Oscars and the anticipation surrounding them, this feels like the perfect moment to start her thread.
