A small film like Seamless can benefit greatly from the support of family and friends, so this weekend give thanks for great independent film and see Seamless at the Cinema Village. It would be great if you could also spread the word and send this to all you know.

Saw it last nite (with soft)

If you guys have the chance to see it, GO!!! It shows the true side of the designers' life.....like dealing with production problems and working 7 days a week....all because it's truly your passion.....

It gave me even more respect for Alexandre from Cloak and Doo.ri. Both of which I really liked in the first place.....

Faust--you gotta see this....I know it's hell with school right now

i can't believe that no one else from the fashion spot has gone to see this movie...

there's great footage of anna wintour and julie gilhart from barney's...
soome really poignant moments and some great laughs...

**anna wintour sitting in isaac mizrahi's lap...
...that was priceless...:P

and the ugliest design award statue i have ever laid eyes on...

omg....the proenza boys are HILARIOUS>...
they are like little cartoons...^_^...

it's a really good movie....
they need to sell videos of it so people around the world can get their hands on it...

seriously..
all you CLOAK fans MUST see this film...

I have to wait till december 26th when it airs on sundance. I am pretty excited about it though.

Runway project

Last time we heard from documentary director Douglas Keeve, it was with his thoroughly enjoyable frockumentary Unzipped, starring his then-boyfriend and mercurial designer Isaac Mizrahi.

This time around Keeve has once again trained his unblinking lens on the infinitely entertaining fashion world in a documentary called Seamless, which debuts on Robert Redford's Sundance channel on Monday at 9 p.m.

"Seamless offers a raw look into what it takes to `make it' in the fashion industry," Sundance spokeswoman Laura Michalchyshyn said in press materials.

The film begins with Vogue editrix Anna Wintour questioning where the next great young designer will come from. If she doesn't know ...

Well, to the rescue comes the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the organizing body of American fashion and the power behind the mega-influential New York runway shows. Along with Vogue magazine, the council presents a financial award to a young promising designer.

Seamless follows four fledgling designers as they navigate the seamy world of Seventh Avenue hoping to win the $250,000 award. The contestants trying to make the transition from obscurity to famous label designer are Alexandre Ptokhov of the Cloak label; Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler; and Doo Ri Chung of Doo.Ri. Aside from a slew of models, also making appearances are Tom Ford, Vera Wang and Valentino (you've gotta see his villa).
