VISIONS OF KARL: Karl Lagerfeld is hung up on Selma Blair. The designer has dressed the actress many times, including the two identical dresses he did for her wedding — one, a pale pink one-shouldered number for the ceremony, the other a black version for the reception. Now he's photographed the actress for the Chanel Vision ads, which bow this month.

"I have a lovely relationship with Karl," said Blair. "It's different to be shot by him. I'm so comfortable in front of him. Sometimes when I work with other photographers, they say ‘Give me more Selma, more, more.' But they don't really know who I am. With Karl, he's capturing something that's more — my personal flaws, the way I am as a girl, not a model."

Blair is shooting "Purple Violets" in New York with Ed Burns and Debra Messing.

thanks! sorry to keep on asking you about the Siwy jeans...but do they come exactly distressed like Selma's (like with the rips, etc)? Or did she have to distress them herself?

Well, I got a pair of the siwy's at Dari in studio city, last spring.( apparently she shops there all the time and the sales girl convinced me to get them since selma bought it) I am quite sure it's the same that I have, since Dari did not have that many different styles. They originally came with 2 small little holes on each knee, but eventually unravel as you wash and wear. So it's unique to you. My friend bought a cropped pair on revolve website and it's been a couple weeks, and haven't really opened. It's called "kiss" wash. The color is very rich but changes as you wear it to perfection. I wash mine like the instructions say "inside out"
Of course, I am probably not as dainty as her...mine are busted open like selma's! lol
I personally like it though! ;-)

They weren't as bad as some brands. Last spring, I bought them at Dari..i think it was about 180? I just got a pair in NYC for 186 in Fall.
Hope that helps. They really fit so good for me. My current new fave. I give it shot outs all the time on this site. Other people do too...though not sure where they picked theirs up.

lostinemotion, would you happen to know the name of the wash/cut selma is wearing? it looks like their "kiss" wash but i'm not sure about the rips. thanks!

I know the pair I bought were called "kiss wash" with the "starter holes". They eventually open right up. The cut on mine is "michelle" and it says "contoured slim" on the care tag. I think they just open up, if you pick at it, or with time, in the wash.
My friend has a kiss wash,and the knee didn't open up as much yet. I have had mine since atleast march/april and I am definitely a picker...so they are open like selma's.
I'm going to stop by this store in nyc, this weekend, that I know would know. The girl's that work there swear by siwy...so hopefullly one of them is working.
I actually want to get a pair of the gray..the pocket looks cool because the stitching matches..and it kind of just puffs out, in a subtle way.

awesome, thanks again for your help. i'm from ny too but unfortunately, i probably won't be back until school lets out for the holidays. i know the intermix on prince used to have them (ah, i am so mad at myself for not getting them then!) so i'm going to see if the smaller intermix here has them tomorrow.

oh yeah, i did see them in the window at intermix. I called yesterday and they were sold out too. I knew they were hard to come by but geez...
you should call shop in the lower east side. they always have them in the window in some color. so, if you are on a mission, i'd call to see if they have the wash you are looking for...

there is one in dc too. much less selection though. the only denim they carry is paige so my search for siwy continues.. selma just looks so good in hers. i want them!
