I know which site you're talking about, purechris, with the galliano and mcqueen patterns. I'd forgotten all about that - it is located at http://www.showstudio.com/play.html... very very cool patterns imo.

I've been curious about that issey miyake pattern for a while now...I can definitely see how a stretch woven would turn out really nice as opposed to a knit. it sounds as though it turned out well. but I definitely agree about sizing - most patterns, designer or not, tend to run really big, so it's best to make a toile/mock-up out of muslin so that you can tweak it and fit it, before investing in really nice fabric for the final project.:flower:

Evexa, the dress ( and sketch ) are wonderful! Id love to see it when its done. Please post it when completed.

i've wanted to try the issey pattern too...i bought all this snap twill tape...
but i don't even know where to begin..i guess i'm just a bit intimidated...
i made a skirt that came out so great...and looked great on the hanger...but it fit like crap!!!..

all that time spent...and then it didn't even fit...i find it very hard to pin on myself and i have no one to pin for me...boo!...:(

even my friends who know how to sew..fully admit that they are to lazy to actually do it...or my friends who do live far away...grrrrr...

most definitely :flower:

Soft, one cool trick with the snap tape:
sew it on at angle, then skip every other snap creating a ruffled look. You could even do this on an existing tshirt from one shoulder to the hem of the opposite side. you're right, I'm too lazy to get around to all of the projects that I've bought fabric for.

utopia--thanks for the link. I need to check that out again.

OMG! I love the Yohji and the McQueen. I can't figure out the download.
Soft--you need the Yohji!

Thank you! It will be a while I'm guessing, mainly because I need the appropriate embroidery attachments.
*sigh*
xx

oh dear...i think i do chris...it doesn't look impossible...
well...add that to the list of projects i guess...
^_^ :innocent:

McQueen pattern is fab... i read the instructions and it was a bit complicated... I shall try when I get the cloth!!!

I like the way this girl made the yohji. I wish I could pull something like that off but I really don't think I could. ah well, it's still quite beautiful.

oh that scarf is fab softie! I just saw it now! Love the camo/tartan combo!

Utopia! Thank you SO much for the pattern links.

I really want to make a skirt--a long one--but I've had a really hard time figuring out exactly how I want to do it. I don't want a drawstring skirt, but I want it to be flowy. Any suggestions?

I saw this picture yesterday and I was thinking of making something similar to this (only better of course ;) ). I think that it would look very pretty in that crumply sort of silk, but I don't know where I would find that or how I would go about creating what's in my head.

I love to make things, but I'm a bit impulsive about starting projects and I won't necessarily finish something big like an item of clothing. I want to, though.

i definitely want to try making that yohji...and thx meg...chris was very sweet to make it for me...it's great!!

so i finished the vest...here are some shots...
pieced together from some pre-existing pieces...the shoulder pieces crocheted by my maternal grandmother and the bottom piece of lace netting inherited from my paternal grandmother...sort of an heirloom piece...
