I hope we see her at Versace. I think she will do well in Milan, since she has an exotic look. I am not sure about Paris though. You never know though, if she can book Tom Ford, she can most certainly book just about any show.
 
Thanks for the video Nani - yay have finally heard how Shaik should be pronounced. I wonder if it's annoying that everyone mispronounces it just to make puns on "shake". Didn't know she was good friends with Lais.

I don't like her walk in the the Jason Wu opening unfortunately :( She looks very wobbly, especially when comparing it to the other girls. It must be hard for her to change up her walk for HF. When she did shows for NYFW when she first got to NY, she didn't have to walk at that speed, or have a perfect technique. Maybe she was just nervous...

I didn't like her walk either - everything moved too much. I heard James Scully gave the models a big pep-talk just before the show started - how they were Jason Wu's warriors/army going into battle. Maybe it psyched her up a bit too much.

Shanina was told to walk strong and Jason was extremely happy with her walk so sorry some weren't too impressed. Sometimes watching shows on you tube often deceive the model's walks whereas viewing live is a whole lot different. I would think if there was a problem with her walk Jason might've chosen another model to open his show. I guess you had to be there

I agree, I think Jason knows best, it's his show after all :) but everyone has their own opinions

P.S. I have to add that Shanina looks amazing in that backstage video, she seems so genuine and professional. I really think she would be a great spokes model (VS + cosmetic companies take a hint ;))

I had another look at the video link and still impressed based on how she was instructed to walk - I still stand by being there live always makes a difference - not sure if others agree?
 
OMG! Major!!! Shanina got a showcard from NEXT Milan! Work girl, now I'm expecting big things :D
 
Oh it was definitely a powerful walk and in keeping with the whole warriors theme JW was going for - I guess it just isn't quite the usual stomp you see down the runway ;) I'm thrilled she delivered exactly what he wanted, but I'm just saying if you've been given a big rah-rah battlefield talk just before walking out, and you're opening, that's gotta get the adrenaline flowing. Even on video, right from that gong with the doors opening, and Shanina walking out I couldn't look away, so it must have had even more impact live.

Anyway, here's to Milan and her walking those gorgeous legs off :):flower:

lol I was walking through the perfume/cosmetics section of Myer today and thinking why am I putting up with some celebrity's face staring out at me when there's that face out there :innocent: Agree she makes a great spokesmodel and impresses whenever she is given the chance.
 
I think she was overly pumped up which caused her to wobble. If you watch the full video of the show you can tell the difference experience wise between Shanina and HF regulars. But that is expected since she is new to HF thing. With the more shows she does, the better she will get. I must say though, she has immensely approved since her first NYFW 3 years ago.

There are some big shows today, hopefully we see her there.

I just realised that models.com took down the showcards for NEXT Paris, Shanina wasn't originally on there, so hopefully when they put them back up Shanina will be on there

I agree and would love to see Shanina with a beauty or perfume campaign/ad as this girl has all the looks and beauty. In NYFW Shanina was given so much exposure with her pics appearing on makeup websites, Jason Wu used Shanina for the hair/makeup trials etc - its a shame if this isn't being considered when she has such beauty.

^for sure, and the "crazy" thing is, I read some comments from make-up artists that worked with her at FW that she is even more beautiful in real life than in photos!

Here she is looking lovely at Nanette Lepore - appears @6:50 and in finale @9:55


And I love whole 60s look with the bouffant hair that she totally pulls off at ODLR - appears @ 1:14.
