Sharon Tate

She looks so Jet Set in the Bazaar photo, anymore of those? I know isn't it cool we still keep on getting more and more photos ;) Thanks to all for them!

Is anyone here going to the Icon: Sharon Tate Style Exhibit this weekend? It shows Jeremy Corbell's art and Sharon's real clothing from Debra Tate.

i'm reading "Roman by Polanski"...Sharon was so lovely. The best couple ever!

I watched Larry King yesterday about her death anniversary, and her sister was on it, and even though older very very beautiful. She has the same eyes as Sharon.

i just asked my mum who sharon was and she said that she was killed (while she was pregnant) by the manson brothers.??? wtf i didnt know that. how terrible. shes so beautiful

Yes. She was eight and a half months pregnant when she was murdered in her own home...I never understood why there are people like the "Manson Family". This is terrible. She was a good actress...and beautiful. simply beautiful

Roman by Polanski:

"For some time I'd realized that Sharon was something permanent in my life. The thought of marrying and raising a family scared me, not because it might encroach on my freedom--Sharon, I knew, would never let that happen--but because personal ties made me feel vulnerable. This fear was a hangover from my childhood, from the insecurity I'd experienced at the age of five or six, when my family began to disintigrate. The only way of not getting hurt, I'd always felt, was to avoid committing myself deeply in the first place. There was implicit insecurity in any relationship--the awareness that any emotional attachment carried the risk of heartache...
Against this was the fact that Sharon made no secret of her strong desire to have a child. Although she never mentioned marriage, and despite her liberated California life-style, I knew that her Catholic upbringing made marriage important to her.

I proposed off the cuff, over dinner in a restaurant. The date we settled on--January 20, 1968--fell a few days before her twenty-fifth birthday"

I loved this book...It's interesting cuz you can know a little bit about them together...I'm obsessed with her history...

The way she and her friends died is just really terrible and evil! :cry:And please believe me when I say that you do NOT want to know more about her death... because it will only make you upset. And not even a horror movie like her death has never been made, because the way they died is just too cruel and unbelievable even for hollywood to make up.

Unfortunately you are wrong. A number of trashy films have been made depicting Sharon's death, although they mostly focus on the Manson Family and not Sharon's life.

When thinking of Sharon's death I like to remember what her sister, Debra once said about it being just a half hour of her life that had nothing to do with who she was or how she lived. Once you start to discover the wonderful person she was, her death becomes rather uninteresting and irrelevant.:flower:

I just got through reading "Charles Manson: In his Own Words" and it is a shame that the killers picked that house. They only picked it because a record producer that Manson worked with used to live there & they were going to kill him.

She is a beautiful woman

Actually, Manson knew that Terry Melcher had moved and was also aware that Sharon was living there, having visited the property once (Sharon later referred to him as "the creepy little man"). To Manson, anyone part of the "establishment" was a worthwhile target.

Slightly off topic, but Steve McQueen was actually on his way to their house that day to hang out- stopped somewhere to have a drink with a friend and never made it...How bizarre.... :o

Someone once said that if all the people who claimed they were supposed to be there the night of the murders had actually attended, there wouldn't have been room for a murder. Debra Tate said that Sharon felt exhausted that night and didn't allow her to have a sleepover with friends, so I can't imagine why she would have invited anyone.
