The skin, hair & body mods (Hipkitten and myself) have discussed moving all hair threads (except 'body' hair) from Skin, Hair & Body Care to a new subforum under Paint that Face.

Should the majority who choose to participate in this poll decide that this is something they would like to see, the hair threads will be moved and Skin, Hair & Body Care will be renamed Skin & Body Care.

If you have a great suggestion for a name for the new subforum (something that is perhaps a great parallel to 'Paint that Face' ?) please help us out and post your suggestions!

If the majority who choose to participate reject this idea, there will be no changes to the current setting.

The poll will be open for participation for 14 days.

I voted yes but I think it should only be for head hair. Threads about body hair or lack thereof should be in the body/skin forum IMO.:flower:

I agree. I was just about to say the same thing. It was always wierd seeing random hairstyle threads in this section of the forum

I voted for no. However I strong deem that skin ought be combined with makeup board.

I don't think that there are enough hair threads to need its own forum. I mean right now its pretty much straight forward: Skin, Hair and Body are all found within one forum. I find that if you have too many subforums that it gets out of hand.

I don't. I mean skin and makeup aren't the same thing. Some people wear makeup, others don't. Some want to know how to take care of their overall skin, not just how to paint it with makeup.

Exactly. I voted no.

Please read the suggestion thoroughly.. just to be clear it says
Subforum ( like Vintage Magazines, Icons of the past, the Celebrity Singers/Musicians) not forum and if you compare to the art & design forum which used to be a subforum.. it was very tiny to start out with as was campaigns...
Paint does in those terms qualify...

is hair really such a big topic here at tfs?...

I voted no for two reasons.

First, there really are not enough hair related threads to merit it's own subforum.

Second, I think the subforum system should be used sparingly, because too many different 'levels' of forums makes the board as a whole more complicated. Also the accessibility of subforums is worse than 'first-level' forums.

Although I must say that I see a possibility that a forum of it's own for hair could encourage more hair discussions, I really think that the more likely scenario would be that a subforum for hair topics would just dry out. I assume so firstly because there are so few hair topics now, and secondly, because subforums attract less random surfers than other forums and thus get even less traffic.

but they both are about the face

I voted yes and I already posted, but just to speak again for the yesses, I think it's ok if there aren't tons of threads. Think of "streetstyle" under "trendspotting". I really isn't that big except for a few major threads. THen there are a lot of minor ones. I think it would feel more organized if it was separate, but then again, it's ok the way it is too. I didn't even think about them being separate until this poll was posted.....

Not exactly. All of your skin is not located on your face. :flower: Some people may have questions regarding why their hands and elbows get so dry and ashy and what they can do to fix it. That is skin thats not your hands and elbows. Someone might start a topic about cracked feet, that is skin that isn't found on your face but is still skin.

Not all skin topics are related to makeup.

I voted no for the same two reasons:

yes, simply put. Hair care is different than body care on some levels and becomes essentially "makeup" at a certain point.

I voted no, but I'm begining to agree. There aren't a whole lot of topics relating to hair, but I think that if there were a subforum it would prompt more discussion and become more interesting.

I think that's a good point... maybe I am for this afterall.
