Shoulder Pads S/S 09

hate wide shoulders ugh:sick:

Marc Jacobs

I have to say, i think i am kinda open to Shoulder Pads, they can be pulled off on certain people/looks.
Rihanna had a yellow leather jacket with silver across the colar which finished down the breast - and it looked amazing i thought, she totally pulled it off - i cant get pics but it was in this weeks Look Magazin (Uk dated i think 18th May).
But then some people and some shoulder pads just are an absolute no go!
Good for balancing out a disprapotioned figure though....

I love the style of the green blazer in post #21 where its kind of puffed at the same time. Does anyone know where I can get on in that style?
Shockingly Barbara on The View today had a lovely red jacket that had the shoulder pad puff look... I really loved it too.

I must say- I'm a big fan of this trend. But, for once, I think it looks better off the runway, and on people that don't have high fashion figures; it balances out pear shapes really well.

yeah i think when done well it can do wonders for a pear shaped. im not sure i like it with the whole eighties look going on, like LV for example, the whole look is too eighties for me, colors, texture and then balmain did it great, it was flashy and all but i kinda liked it (me and the rest of the world it seems) i wouldnt wear it like that because the cone-y shoulder are too much but i like how they balanced it with short dresses and jackets.

I agree completely...A well tailored jacket with strong shoulders is super-super flattering!

I have some jackets with shoulderpads and I quite like it.

i love this trend since im the one with small shoulders and tiny arms :)

Honestly, I've never been a fan and probably never will be, unless they're very very small/thin shoulder pads.
