Message to our Japanese correspondent , RUNNER .

Please help .

Two or three years ago , a shop in Manchester , that I have referred to in less than glowing terms before , specialising in Yohji Yamamoto Mainline , stocked some VERY nice Yohji - type pieces by Shu Moriyama , who I was assured by the shop owner , was a studio design assistant ( could have been the ' Ys for Men ' team ) , of Yohji , and destined for greater things .

Have you any idea what has become of him . I did track down on GOOGLE , a reference to a shop in Germany that stocked his women's line , but lately , no joy .

I do hope that you do not mind my asking , as you are our resident expert on these obscure Japanese lines , and one DOES like to keep up , even here on the top of the windy Pennines in ' that piss-pot little country ' , commonly called the UK . :innocent:

...you are too funny kit!!!...

hopefully runner can help you out because i definitely can't...^_^
never heard of him...

sorry I have never hear of him either.....

ye tell me about it Kit...the otherside of those hills isn't much joy either...

I was in at the Manchester Flannels last week, it's truely awful...lol

made me appreciate Leeds just that little bit more :P

as for your designer, we'll have to wait for Runner...

Sorry , I forgot the name of the German Shop , it was in Frankfurt or Dusseldorf , I think .

AS FOR OUR FRIENDS IN THE NORTH AT FLANNELS , MANCHESTER ,

They are SO SO up themselves , at the same time . As I posted in the Luxury store thread , the SAs in Hermes , just round the corner are SO SO polite and non- mithering ( if you use that word , over there !!! ) .

Competition from Selfridges and Harvey Nicks should give them a little humility with their clientele . B)

yea, Harvey Niks seems to be stealing customers from flannels in leeds...

They're even carrying the same labels as each other now...quite amusing...

kit, I have no idea.
very sorry I can't be of any help.
I'll try to find some info on him.

OK , listen up , Chucks !!!

In local Cheshire dialect , ' to mither ' means ' to annoy , to pester and irritate with continual petty requests . An attention seeking child will continually pester its mother over something and nothing , to get the answer, ' Just GO AWAY and stop mithering me , will you ? !!!!! ' . ( In yorkshire , over the Pennines , it is ' moither ' , the same word . )

Next up .

' Eee , I'm reet poufagged !!!! ' , meaning , ' God , I'm REALLY tired out !!!! ' .

Hope this helps .

softgrey is really enjoying this Yorkshire/Lancashire dialect...

I should try and teach her some glaswegian...lol..
