I've neber seen Sienna in anything, so I can't judge her as an actress. I didn't hear of her 'til she hooked up w/ Jude Law. That's not to say she didn't deserve the attention b/f, maybe she did. BTW this film isn't listing under Katie's upcoming projects on the IMDB. Is she a definate for the role?

But Cruise told Holmes to nix it, insiders said. "Edie was in and out of mental institutions and on all sorts of psychotropic drugs," said our spy. "Tom doesn't believe in those drugs because of Scientology." Another insider said, "Tom didn't want her to take the role because it portrayed her as a victim and he said she should only take strong roles." If Katie Holmes takes the role of Edie Sedgwick, I will be SICK!!!!!!!! Maybe Sienna Miller is not the greatest actress, but then....Katie Holmes?????? I would rather see Janine Garafalo or even Roseanne Barr!!! At least, then, it would make sense as a comedy which will happen if they cast Katie Holmes!!

Regardless of how I feel about Katie in this role, I hope she's not gonna let Tom Cruise dictate her career choices for her. I think it may be significant that Nicole Kidman played her best and riskiest roles after her divorce.

someone just told me to rememeber Katie in that movie where she was a "bad girl" and had all the piercings...what was that? where all the kids were in some cult? can't remember the movie's title, but have to admit...she was okay in that as far as being "bad" and on drugs. wonder if she COULD pull off the Edie thing now...(don't kill me for saying that! ha!)

I think that movie was "Disturbing Behavior"- it was acrually a pretty standard teen horror flick-kind of a "Stepford Wives" w/ teens being changed by their parents. Katie is against it-she and her boyfriend try to escape.
She was a former druggie who'd turned atounf in "Pieces of April" complete w/ tatoos and piercings, and in "Go" she was a supermarket clerk who gets caught up in this whole drug deal mess, if my memory serves me correctly. Oh, and in "the Ice Storm" I think she was a brainy girl turned druggie. In "the Gift" her character was also a bad girl in good girl disguise. She was engaged, but she was sleeping w/ a bunch of other people. I remember she had a pretty revealing nude scene in that.
