Although I was too buggered to properly enjoy it, from what I could hear, Silverchair played an awesome set at Homebake! They haven't played at Homebake for a very long time (for obvious reasons) so I'm really glad I went this year . Their new, yet-to-be-released album is called Young Modern.

Anyway, I loved Silverchair, not so much now but during the Neon Ballroom and Diorama era. Daniel wrote beautiful and haunting lyrics

I hated their grungy days..i think Diorama is a masterpiece. My favourite songs are love your life, the greatest view, miss you love and after all these years.

I saw them a few months ago in brisbane, daniel was a bit shorter than i thought. I thought of him as reaaaaly tall for some reason. They all seemed pretty happy and daniel was so happy that we liked the new songs, seemed a bit relieved. I must admit i like all their albums, i like to see the progression of some ones life through music, makes them a little more real and less programmed. Plus i just like grunge music and i find the whole look kinda sexy too, maybe im weird.

i think all the albums are good, they all represent something different. I have to say one reason i dislike some of the new stuff is because it has been made very mainstream and isnt as rock, which is kinda the same with diorama. But i cant deny, especially diorama, was an amazing album. It's just annoying turning on the radio and a silverchair song being followed by the pussycat dolls. But then maybe im just a music snob. I just think music thats about something shouldnt be played next to a song about how you can get yourself off without a dude being around.
if i thought that silverchair were full of crap and just wanted to be really rich i wouldnt like the new album, but i see it as like a group of guys who have gone through so much and especially daniel has come out the other end and its just really happy and positive and nice. Neon ballroom was amazing but so painful. I say good for them.
But i have to say i liked the long hair haha.

Thought I'd bump this thread

Silverchair have been my favourite band for soooo many years. I got to see them live for the first time last year and they were simply AMAZING. I wish they would come back and tour the UK again. My favourite album is probably Frogstomp.. I quite liked the new album aswell.

I think Daniel Johns & Natalie Imbruglia (sp?) split up?
