Revealed: The surrogate mother carrying Sarah Jessica Parker's twin girls is a tattooed bisexual rocker
The woman chosen by Sarah Jessica Parker to be a surrogate for her twin girls has a chequered history as a mother, according to U.S. reports.
Michelle Ross is the woman chosen by the Sex And The City star and husband Matthew Broderick to carry their twins, it has been claimed.
Michelle, who has previously acted as a surrogate mother for a New York gay couple and refers to herself as bisexual, is reportedly due to give birth in July.
'Michelle has kids for other people, but she hardly ever sees her own son,' Joseph Erker told Star magazine.
Michelle and 28-year-old Joseph divorced in 2006, with Joseph left to look after their four-year-old son, Brayden, at their home in Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Brayden was Michelle's first child, but not her first pregnancy - she lost a child during while still at high school after developing the autoimmune Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
'I don't want to know why I had to go through being paralysed and losing a baby,' Michelle wrote on her MySpace page.
Guillain-Barre Syndrome is a disorder where the immune system attacks the nerves, and doctors said she needed to be checked by a neurologist every month during pregnancy.
Joseph claims that although Michelle eventually recovered from the disorder and the loss of her child, she 'discovered a dark side in herself'.
Her MySpace profile reveals that she has found a defiant new attitude, Star claims.
'I have had pink hair and tattoos and spiked collars,' she wrote on the social networking website.
'My favourite shoes are five-inch black spike heels which lace up the front.
'I love metal and rock down to the bones.'
Michelle has a tattoo on one of her wrists of an overlapped pink and blue triangle, a symbol for bisexuality.
On MySpace Ross identifies herself as 'bi', according to Star.
'She told me that's what it stands for,' said Joseph.
Despite her past difficulties, her ex-husband says that Michelle acts as a surrogate for the right reasons.
'She said she wanted to become a surrogate to help people who couldn't have children of their own.'
Michelle has refused to confirm if she is acting as a surrogate for Parker and Broderick. But Star magazine claims the babies were conceived in vitro using eggs Parker had frozen some time ago and Broderick's sperm.
'They feel that these babies are a blessing. A miracle,' an insider told the magazine.
The couple already have one son, six-year-old James and are hoping the new arrivals will help keep their marriage together.
'They want to keep the family together,' an insider said.
'They always wanted James to have siblings.'
However, Parker has admitted she is anxious about her ability to balance caring for three children with her career.
She told the New York Daily News: 'It's been a complicated past few weeks.
'My main concern is that my husband and son have enough time. I've felt very conflicted over the last few weeks.
'Hopefully, our son is feeling loved and taken care of. I can't really complain because it's my choice to work, but that doesn't mean I don't spend a better part of the day worrying about whether my family is getting enough [time] from me.'
She added: 'Any complications or any anxiety I feel is normal. Any mother who wants to continue to work and have a career outside the home goes through this, so I feel very much a part of the sisterhood.'
