Angel Sanchez is great. Met him in person and he is super nice. I'm surprised there is not a lot of discussion about him here on tFS.

Karl Lagerfeld's sketches of Anna Piaggi
(geocites annapiaggi)

Karl Lagerfeld´s illustrated Fashion Journal of Anna Piaggi is a personal illustrative tribute to Anna Piaggi. These watercolors and pen-and-ink sketches, with thei runcanny depiction of detail and their ability to convey the effect of an entire outfit, give clues to Lagerfeld´s own designing methods and provide an endlessly fascinating diary of dress. Made over a period of 12 years ( 1972-1986 ), they reveal Lagerfeld´s extraordinary skills as a draftsman

I met Donna karans head illustrator, the one she's been using for the past 20 years (whos illustrators are those that appear in WWD)

I believe her name was Xionar. I forget and I can't make it out on the sketches..but we had an amazing long talk about working, illustrating, desinging and inspiration. She's really a character, she has so much energy and doesn't stop talking and moving. you can really tell where her drawing style comes from.

Anyways, she was kind enough to draw in my sketchbook..and even though I asked for just one, she kept on going. and yes I didn't mind one bit.

i love the simple sketches that come from just a few lines, but that can convey everything about the design

Dior wasn't established until 1947, but even still, those designs don't look like they're from the 20's/30's era, too much emphasis on the waist in that ballgown, and the pink fluffy coat is very 50's couture looking shapewise.

I'm almost sure that the pink one is Balenciaga..
