here's an illustration from Dior HC SS 04 that I've done recently (it's also my avatar picture!)

You've got an amazing talent! :flower:

ohh I love love love this thread!! Clothes are great, but I think designer sketches are truly pieces of artwork on their own. I actually used to sketch out ideas, but mind you this was a couple of years ago when I thought that hot pink jeans were really cute or something crazy like a middle school girl would think. Now I'm inspired to get a fresh new sketchbook and start sketching ideas again..just not sure what medium to color them with- Maybe colored pencils or watercolor? what do you guys think?

^ Well I use watercolours, and black ink or fineliners and pencils, just use whatever inspires you.!

i just wanted to let you guys know that i moved this wonderful thread from careers & education to the new art & design forum.

Thanks .francesca...it always confused me being in the C&E forum

Jeez, you guys are so good. I had to BUY templates online yesterday to make up for lack of talent...

Great thread! I like to see how designers express their ideas, you can even see their personality through those sketches.

Are these the sketches the designers made or are these sketches made by just people who like to draw designer dresses?

Thanks in advance!

^ It looks like it's both. Some where even made by themselves (who postet). The ones I showed where made by the designers.

Which Software To Use for Fashion Designing in PC?

Hey guys, I need help, I am currently applying as a designer for a local brand and they have asked me to do a collection If i can make them on Photoshop or Corel, it would be better as the client prefers them to be computer-rendered.

How will I do it? Is there a specific Corel or Adobe program?

Do I draw using mouse?

Waaaah! Im gonna die!

People, I need your help I need to submitt this collection by Monday. Thanks in advance, everyone!

kinkexplosion, Corels program is called Corel Painter, Adobes is called Adobe Photoshop. You can also use Adobe Illustrator.

These programs is expencive, but you can download a trial verson that'll last for 30 days. I'm not sure if Corel have one, but I think Adobe have. Just go to www.adobe.com and look around, I'm sure you'll find it! I would try Photoshop first. And maybe you'll find some tutorials that can help you if you search on google.

If you don't have a pen tablet I would use the mouse, yes.

Edit: If you can find a trial version of Corel Painter, I think that's the best program. Good luck!

^ thanks ingvildel! but im still confused, im pretty sure if i design in computer it will look horrible like a drawing from an elementary student! lol...

what if i scan my sketches, then just enhance it using these programs?

That actually sounds like a better idea if you're inexperiensed with mouse-drawing. Then I'd go for Photoshop. But I'm not sure what you can do with them to make them look more digital. Maybe you can explain it when you deliver the drawings?
