Skin Lightening / Whitening products

Is there anything out there that will just fade hyperpigmentation marks and not make it look like you're wearing a white mask?

you might want to try triluma. you should ask a doctor about it. although in some countries its available without a prescription.

I had really bad acne scars on my back and I had to get a couple of peeling sections to get it 'all' off. I got rid of the majority of it, but there were some spots that were 4-5 shades darker than my skintone. I used Vitanol-A (it changes names from country to country, so you might wanna google it) everyday for 7 days and it got really better. Just really make sure you use it daily, I works much more poorly if you skip a day or two

You can also try some home remedies. They do work, but they take longer to get you the result you want - at least they will certainly take you there, unlikely some expensive products that don't work for everybody..
I like to use a mix of plain yogurt with a bit of fresh lemon juice once a week. It does helps brightens the skin but again, this is a routine you want to stick to to see the results!
Lemon is one of the best natural bleachers and the plain yogurt will just hydrate your skin (lemon can be a bit harsh if your skin is already quite dry, so you never want to use it directly.. unless you want dull skin)

I made this spray for my face, and i see improvement. i mixed different juices, (lemon juice, cucumber juice, green tea, glycerin and aloe vera). you pretty much need too squeezed the juices out and pore them in a jar and leave the jar refrigerated for a day, and your finish!

Every non-White population has an issue with having darker skin--they all have products for skin lightening. It has a lot to do with economic status (African slaves who were lighter were house slaves; Indians and Asians who were of a higher status spent less time doing labor outside so their skin was lighter) and the stains of colonialism when the European standard of beauty was idealized and imprinted of peoples of different nations to enforce slavery and the mistreatment of non-Whites--'The Great Chain of Being' when the concept of race took root in Homo sapien history. Such idealizations and thoughts about economic status eventually transformed into thinking that being lighter was better than being darker among other things where it is seen as undesirable to have kinky hair or epicanthic folds which is found in both African and Eastern Asian populations worldwide.

And I disagree, most Asians are tanned. I live in a large Asian population here and they're not pale at all unless they hide behind their huge umbrellas and wear long sleeves. I'm multiracial and my ex was from Korea. His skin was three shades lighter than mine when it got hotter outside and he wasn't even sunbathing or anything.

this is true but in the middle east there is a slow reversal of this happening

yesterday i ordered a 30% glycolic peel. im excited to start using it. I also bought a likas papaya soap.

There are other reasons why women would want a lighter hue...

It amuses me when people complain about women wearing long sleeves and using umbrellas to avoid the sun yet don't say a word about the multitudes of European women who lay out in the sun for hours upon hours only to end up with wrinkles.

From a make-up perspective, fair skin makes a better canvas.

You can gently rub a fresh lemon onto your skin. It's 100% natural so you don't have to worry about nasty chemicals, and the vitamin C will penetrate through.

Has anyone used Likas Papaya Soap Cleanser? Apparently, it contains some extracts from Papa and it's pretty popular in Asian. The plus side of it is that it's all natural. The only thing that scares me is that if I use it on my face, it might not even out everything and possibly just lighten certain areas. Idk, this sounds crazy, but I have this feeling that it might just lighten like say my cheeks but the not the rest you know. Lol

I've used the Likas Papaya soap before and noticed a difference.

I'm want to try and fade the freckles on my arms/shoulders more though - any body cream/lotion/serum recommendations?

Papaya is the best! I just bought earthscience papaya-glycolic gentle skin peel and I've never had such good results (:
Also, does anybody know a good inexpensive under eye treatment to keep my eyes looking young? I'm only 20 and I'm starting to notice crows feet and dark circles. Please help!

Dude! Me too
Btw, are your thoughts still the same for the earthscience papaya-glycolic gentle skin peel?

Definitely! I've been using it for months still and it still makes my skin feel soft and prevents breakouts!

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any homemade recipes for a lightening cream, I've tried lemon juice (burns like crazy), but I haven't really found anything else. I'm really just doing this to clear up some spots I have here and there on my face. My skin is very un-sensitive and can take pretty much anything. Thanks in advance!

^ Try aspirin scrub! Put 2-3 pills of aspirin and in a bowl or plate, add a few drops of water (Avene or La Roche-Posay thermal water in works great!), wait untill the pill can be crushed, crush it, put it on your face and exfoliate.
You can make a mask and keep it on a face for about 10 minutes. When it's dry just rinse off with water. I've heard that you can also add honey to the aspirin paste, but I didn't try it.

Thank you so much! I will definitely try this tonight. Does it matter what kind of aspirin I use? Coated/uncoated?

Oh, I forgot to mention that- the aspirin must be uncoated, it'll be easier to crush it. It helped me a bit with my post-acne scars. :)

Lately I've been obsessed with Skin brightening line from Boots Botanics. It just suits my skin type really well plus the day cream is not greasy at all and works well with my combination/oily skin :)

Didn't know there's a thread on this! I thought everyone is into tanning *giggles* :p I swear by Likas Papaya soap! It effectively removed my acne scars. It can be usually found at Asian stores :D
