Aloha...

Does anybody have any experience w/ the Skinceuticals skincare line? Have you tried it before? Are you using it now?

Anything?

I'm currently using the SPF 30 that company makes (sorry, I forgot the exact name of it) and its non-greasy and goes on well (without making me look gray). I havent used anything else from that line though.

Hmm, I never tried it personally, but a friend told me she was pleased with hers.

I used it at one point. I had 2 of their serums (i forgot the name) and they seem to work just fine. I'd give it a try again.

At the behest of my aesthetician I purchased SkinCeuticals' Hydrating B5 Gel and I love it! Makes my skin feel soft and moisturized. Definitely great for parched skin

I currently use C E Ferulic Serum and love it.

It you go over to makeupalley.com you will see how popular their products are.

I like the CE Ferulic, but I think it's a bit strong for my skin. It tends to make me have "purge breakouts", which are then followed by a glowing, clear complexion. I'm thinking of switching to the Serum 10, which is milder, and the formulation has the magic ferulic acid. I've read the combination of C and ferulic acid maximizes the free-radical blocking effect of sunscreens by an eightfold.

I've also used their SPF 20, a broad-spectrum mineral-based block which doesn't leave a chalky cast to your skin. I've read it's still not as good as European approved sunscreens, like LaRoche Posay's, which contain a more-effective sunscreen that has yet to be approved by the US FDA.

I'm currently awaiting samples of their Phyto+ from an eBay seller, a good place to get Skinceuticals at a steep discount. Sunscreen or no, it's been a particularly non-foggy Bay Area summer, and I've become a giant-spotted melasma monster. I'm hoping the kojic acid will make me pristine and coveted porcelain again.

I still can't help but think my skin was better before I started with all this crap, but truth is I'm in my 30's now. Soon starts the inexorable flesh sliding off bone that no expensive serum will halt. I certainly hope I can find someone superficial enough to love me before the grotesqueries of my credit rating prevent my face's being fishhooked and sutured into a simulacrum of youthful loveliness. Save me, Skinceuticals serum!

I guess I'll try it. mellow, don't be unhappy! it's not that bad. (I'm 40)

Maybe you have better bones than I do with which to anchor a sliding face! My favorite Bob Dylan line of late is "And even if the flesh falls off of my face / I know someone will be there to care." Which is the first time I really felt where Dylan was coming from, purely and simply, except for the someone caring part. Maybe he needs some Skinceuticals. Maybe we all do. I'm not particularly unhappy; it's not some "Ohmigod, I'm 34!" revelation. I'm just perverse.

I weighed in on the big, earth-shattering Farrah Fawcett debate at the gossip threads. I don't want that kind of pressure to look 35 when I'm 60. I want to look like a trollish little bulldog-faced woman when I'm 60. I'm well on my way. I hope it's all the rage when I get there.

Too expensive.

Agreed! eBay for samples, instead! You can get the equivalent of a full-sized($100+) serum for around $20. Plus, the little bottles don't oxidize as quickly as the large ones do. I won't buy any high-end products unless it's at a steep discount-- never, ever pay retail!

I was recommended a list of products by my aesthetician (who is very familiar with the line). At the moment I'm using Skinceuticals Gentle Cleanser and Revitalising Toner, and have purchased the clay mask but have not yet tried it. The line is a little on the pricey side, but I do exactly what my facialist tells me to.. which may or may not be a good thing...

I loved the Revitalizing Toner when I used it. I get dead skin buildup, small little comedones around nostrils and on nose almost every couple of days and this helped not having to do extractions or exfoliate so much. I would definitely repurchase. Actually have just been on their website and seeing a ton of stuff I want, like the Phloretin CF (it says for oily skin, I go sometimes between combo to sensitive plus it is their most expensive product and guessgirl uses it) the Retexturing Activator Serum (I dont know if this is glycolic acid but it is $140 LESS than La Prairie's Retexturizing Booster), the Phyto Corrective Gel I have always wanted for redness I sometimes get in my cheeks because I too am guilty at not wearing SPF everyday and i was using Natura Bisse spf (they just came out with a 50! OMG TDF but its $135) and I heard that SkinCeuticals is really nice and non-greasy...anyway I want about a half dozen more serums, a couple moisturizers and a few masks, I could keep going on, but my bum's asleep and I need to get to bed...glad to see there was a SkinCeuticals thread here, hopefully it will be more active again.

has anyone tried the phyto corrective gel? I'm stuck with acne scars/red-brown spots and they are diminishing but I would like to speed up the process

@letthemeatcake: if you could buy everything you wanted I think you would need a seperate room to store it in :D

^Valkyrie: Yes! I've got both the phyto corrective gel and the phyto+ gel. The phyto corrective gel really does help in making the skin more even-toned and has helped with fading the acne scars. However, you shouldn't expect that it would do this instantly. Use the product faithfully, and after about a bottle, it would fade most of it. The phyto+ gel is wonderful for making my skin translucent and perfectly toned!

You might also want to try the Renew Overnight - comes in 2 versions - oily and dry skin types. I'm using the one for oily skin - it makes my pores more refined, keeps it perfectly hydrated without causing any breakouts and is really one of the best night creams I've ever used!

Hope this helps!

[vogue] you've sold me on the phyto+ gel...is that the green one for redness? I just love that you say it keeps your skin translucent and flawless, sounds beautiful....and I want to try the Renew Overnight, one of them.

OH.MY.GOD dont I know it. It's so obsessive. :innocent:

^if i'm not wrong, the phyto corrective gel is the one for redness, and the phyto+ is more for discolourations. i love this!!

and you have to get the renew overnight! i LOVE it!

So... I have added the phyto corrective gel to my shopping list. Damn you enablers!

the phyto corrective is also for discoloration and for problematic skin which mine is today/last days

I've ordered it, hoping to receive it soon! i'm realistic in seeing results  my skin has already improved over last couple of days thanks to revives cream but I'm hoping this gel will have more effect
