Right, was down on the SWATH set today, only had today sadly. Obviously there's a lot I can't tell you because I'm sworn to secrecy but they were still shooting some of the action scenes. I remain completely unconvinced by Kristen in this role, it just doesn't feel right watching it. I can't quite put my finger on it, something felt off, a little uneven and as some of you have said, she doesn't really strike you as the butt-kicking, armour wearing type. She was of course, her usual charming self . Hemsworth is a hugger and a kisser, I didn't see that coming! I had my doubts about him but was pleasantly surprised. His looks translate very differently on screen to how he looks in reality too, I think he has a way to go but he seems to learning to steady his performances a little, he's certainly come on from Thor which he wasn't completely useless in. I have been left questioning whether Rupert Sanders is a little out of his depth. Sorry I can't spill more, but I don't want a telling off.

Oh I forgot to say, the weather has been wonderful the last few days, so no complaints there, even on the beach . I did see a few pics of what the dwarves look like, very cool, can't decide whether I like them better than the Hobbit ones or not...SWATH are lacking a 'hot one' though

^Lovely report from SWATH! And I'm not surprised about Chris, he's always seemed like a bit of a charmer. Hopefully the other actors will balance out the casting of Kirsten and the film will end up alright. Does it seem like it'll have a lot of special effects?

Does that mean you don't think he's ready for a project like this?
If so, I agree...the only thing he's directed before this film were commercials and video games. But I guess he's gotta start somewhere.

I worry that on a film with such a broad stroke, that perhaps he lacks experience to maintain strong character development and more intimate scenes amongst the bigger set pieces of action. I think he may not have the capacity to prevent the characters becoming too 2D amongst the bigger, flashier stuff. He's a lovely guy and I admire the studio's belief in him taking on such a project at this point in his career.

^ Thanks. I'll probably still watch it cause Armie looks hot and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Nathan Lane. Julia actually looks quite good in the red dress.

It's much more of a classic Snow White to SWATH, which has so many deviations, but Tarsem is an aesthetic genius, his work always looks amazing, Immortals being a case in point. I actually think this SW could win out, the other has far to many variants at the moment.

This film looks like it's going to appeal to a wider audience, kind of like Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, or Chronicles of Narnia.
So it may do better at the box office than the Universal version.

if people compare SWatH to LotR then it´s fair to compare this SW to Burton´s Alice... I´d like to see this one in 3D just to see these costumes POP!

^To be honest, I don't really understand why people compare SWATH to LOTR. To me they are pretty different, yeah they both have a fantasy element to them, but LOTR is more complex and whatnot. But I definitely see what you are saying about this SW and Burton's Alice. I think it's the outlandish costumes that are making the two comparable.

interestingly tho, i was too, instantly, reminded of Burton's Alice upon seeing this. just a tad lighter version feeling from the stills. paradox is even more funnier considering Burton's costume designer is actually working on Universal's version. i'm gonna wait for a trailer for this to see if i'm going to see this.

Relativity’s Snow White Film Titled MIRROR MIRROR

Thank the maker! It’s finally time to put Untitled Snow White Project That’s Not the One with Kristen Stewart to bed, as Relativity’s competing Snow White project finally has a title: Mirror Mirror. It’s a fine title, and pretty much gets the point across that we’re dealing with fairy tales here. While there’s a multitude of Snow White movies in development, this one differs greatly from its main competitor, Snow White and the Huntsman. The Kristen Stewart-led pic is an epic, dark, and gritty take on the fairy tale, while Mirror Mirror is described as a lighthearted comedy action-adventure.

The Fall’s Tarsem Singh directs, so we’re in for a visual treat, and Lily Collins stars as the eponymous Snow White. The supporting cast that includes Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, Armie Hammer as the prince, Sean Bean as the King, as well as Nathan Lane. Click here to check out a number of images from the film, which should give you a better idea of the tone. Mirror Mirror opens March 16th, 2012.

Filming for the comedy action adventure wrapped in mid-September under the stylish direction of Tarsem Singh (Immortals, The Cell). The theatrical release date is set for March 16, 2012.

The newly titled film Mirror Mirror, stars breakout star Lily Collins (The Blind Side) as an exiled princess who enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright and Oscar®-winner Julia Roberts as an evil Queen who steals control of a kingdom, in a magical adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.
