Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette

Yeah I couldn't find the soundtrack on the US iTunes either.

I saw the movie on Friday and I loved it!

ehhh I was pretty dissapointed. It was visually amazing, but at one point I just found myself getting sick of Kirsten lying around lavishly with bow wow wow in the background and shots of pastries and extravagent shoes; it just got so repetative. It also felt like there wasn't enough dialouge in the movie. Sofia Coppola did such an amazing job at combining ingenious visual imagery AND an amazing script in the virgin suicides, I don't understand why the same couldn't be done for this film!

i'm anxious to see it and judge for myself. i have to find someone to drag with me because it doesnt sound like the boyfriend would enjoy it too much:)

When my husband and I were at the theatre, and saw a trailer for this, he turned to me and simply said "No" before I even had a chance to ask!

^

I saw the movie in June and it's amazing I'm big fan of Sofia's work, the cinematography is just fantastic so is Kristen I think it's one of her best role so far.I loved the soudtrack too it really worth going to see even the end is a bit dissapointing.

PS: Does anybody know where I can find the soudtrack ???? :(

I saw the movie on May,since i live in France and the movie was released in that month.I like the movie, visually,it's stunning and the costumes are great. The acting is fine,i particularly liked Rose Byrne and Jason Schwartzmann whom i was very reluctant to play Louis XVI.
Although i was already prepared to the fact that this wasn't a typical historical movie or an accurate MA biopic, there were yet a few things that i kinda disliked in the movie. The treatments of Fersen and Madame Du Barry, the first meet of Madame de Polignac with the queen,no affair of the necklace (which was an important point in MA's life);I absolutely hated that Coogan guy who plays Mercy D'Argenteau.

I loved the little actress playing Mme Royale, she was sooooo cute.Really did dig the scene when she hangs around Le Hameau with Kirsten who was really believable as mother in that scene.
She was fine however her character wasn't as complex as the MA who has to fight against the revolutionaries.

I saw it Friday night. The movie was absolutly gorgeous, but the script was missing something. The characters didn't develop enough. What happened to Molly Shanon and her friend? They dissapeared. It could have been so much better, but I still enjoyed it.

I think that has an effect of an elementary school history book. Or conversations by distant people as we're imagining it instead of being in front of it. Instead, what was happening or what they're feeling would be more exact. It's not the best effect, but I don't hate it.

Has anyone else seen the movie?
Is it cute?
I wanna see it with my mom... Im not expecting something marvelous, but rather something fun to watch that isnt gonna be ridiculously lame.

And I'm going to see the movie again for a second time today!!!

Thanks so much! I don't know why it wasn't working for me.

I didn't go into the movie expecting much out of the plot, just to be visually entertained. I actually loved the end. It would have been too expected if Sofia showed what everyone thought was coming.

Clothes and food were great. The biggest dissapointment is that Kirsten wasn't beheaded at the denouement.

i saw it last week and was wondering if anybody noticed the microphone showing many times and the purple converse sneakers when they showed the shoes
was it done on purpose??? although i don t see why it would be!!!

my thoughts on the movie: beautiful music and costumes, lame ending. overall i thought it was really good, definitely worth what i spent on the movie ticket. and Marie Antoinette's kids were too cute^_^ .
