Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol, sharing a chuski in a scene from their forthcoming film Aisha, which is being shot in Delhi. They were shooting at Central Park in CP on Sunday. The film is based on Jane Austen’s Emma, with Sonam playing Emma and Abhay, Mr Knightley.
Sonam’s been in Delhi for about a week, but shooting started only on Sunday. Meanwhile, she’s met relatives and friends, and has been taking dance classes in Safdarjung. She’s brought her personal trainer along too. She’s accompanied by her mother and sis Rhea, who’s also one of the producers. Anil is in the US shooting for 24, and he’s expected to be in Delhi by about September 9 or 10.
On a wet Sunday morning, the shooting began at the crack of dawn, at 5 am, at a lounge in Inner Circle. There wasn’t too much of a crowd, although they were noisy. At one point, Abhay had to gesture to the crowd to pipe down so they could shoot.
Central Park was blocked for the shooting, with only one gate open for entry. While the security there’s particular about frisking on most days, on Sunday, there was none for the people going in and out during the shooting. On Monday, they shot at Humayun’s tomb and Old Fort.
