^ Yeah, it's one fantastic ed, indeed. Meisel at his best for sure.
I started a thread for the issue and soon will post snapshots of the ed there. I know there have been tiny pics of it on the net, though..

stumbled on this Behind the Scenes of Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 1993, " Orient-Express " :
" Something was shifting either across the continents or on the runways. Trends versus style were having a debacle to the last pin. Time for Balkan warrior dolls shot by Steven Meisel.
It was not far from the release of Coppola's Dracula: all the tartan, waistcoats, and top hats might have come directly from the dusky images traveling mysteriously across the rails.
A bit Victorian, a bit dolls play dress up, the collection presented by Dolce & Gabbana was a silent movie rich of folkloric insinuations, Victorian elements, an d a defying tone. It's not about trend, told the stylists, Style is forever.
Steven Meisel's campaign was innovative by itself, it marked the decline of the super-model era. The models of the campaign were unknown faces, including a very young Bridget Hall, with no hair or make-up. Innocent yet ready to wear the most dramatic roles.
A steady component of all the collections was to play to a mannish appeal and style: military coats were that year's most important element. Who can forget all of the Napoleonic editorials?
A fun and burlesque appeal didn't go amiss. The corset, the ultimate Dolce&Gabbana must, had found that year its more populare and colourful effect. "
