Absolutely genius! This is the kind of ed I've been waiting for him to do all year long. An ed that's original, fun and ironic at the same time. Also the cast couldn't bee any better; from Polly Mellen to Eden Wood everyone is there.

It looks like I can see his best work in W, not in VI these days, even though he doesn't work for W regularly. I've been disappointed by the ones in VI recently. Now that's the Meisel I love.

Vogue Italia May 1992: cover + main story with Kristen McMenamy, Susan Holmes, and Meghan Douglas

Also before she become the Fashion Director at Vogue Nippon, ADR was editor at L'Uomo Vogue from 2000-2006 and Meisel was the main photographer of the publication, so I guess they worked a lot together in the past

ADR about Meisel:

...I remember the first time I was so hot it was as if I had a fever, just from the nerves. Then he arrived and he had black hair and I said “oh my god, HE looks good too. What do I do!” He was so beautiful and, of course he was speaking English to me at a time when I did not speak English so well...

Steven once again proved his great skills as a photographer. Fabulous Fakes is absolutely great. Perhaps the most interesting editorial he shot this year. It's simply original. Way much better than The Transformers from the Sept. issue.
