Stockings and Leggings - best shoes to pair with ?

I think Leggings look best with flats and sandals. Tights look good with high heels and boots!

Question - would it be tacky to wear stockings with peep toe heels?

It is not if you take care that the toe seam isn't visible.

It's all in the attitude. Leggings looks great with flats but also with platforms, and I've even seen them work well with a thinner heel, ala louboutins.

Tights are great with chunky shoes and most likely will make a strong showing this fall with open toe sandals; a contradiction in tone, if you will.

I can't comment much on "panty-hose" since I avoid them at all cost but I agree with zarina, that the sandal foot ones are made for peep toes and open toe shoes.

what about some of the great colorful tights coming out for the fall season? It's going to be so much fun wearing fiesty shoes and pairing them with colorful tights and socks. Prada has some great examples.
