She is formerly an assistant at Maison Martin Margiela and has been designing for a very premature(give or take apprenticeships and commercial work)4 seasons counting the most recent FW. I think her style is very much similar to that layered,experimental-of-prudent-shapes, artisan's feel that alot of her compatriots have adapted. Not completely original or fresh, but still very lovely,I think. But we shall see how she develops....at least I will

I liek her look alot, very nice and cute, cool, modern

reminds me a bit of Katarzyna Szczotarska , also worked for margiela

quite interesting but she needs to find her own voice i guess,
i liked the 'spare' atmosphere of her photos,

thanks for bringing this in Scott

You're welcome Lena.

I agree with you. I hope she will explore more in the coming seasons..find her style. Alot of this kind of reminds me of the work by Lieve Van Gorp.

Too black and boring for my liking.

Exactly. :ninja: Just wondering why you guys are so fond of these designers who's work (I find) looks all about the same... What do you honestly see in it?

She's OK for an up-and-comer... but I wouldn't buy what I see here. :ninja:

I don't get it either. I do not see anything original in the pictures posted, everything she designs has been done hundreds of times before :yuk:

I've learned to reserve my judgements about certain designers (primarily the Belgians) until I see the designs up close in 3-d. A lot of their work may seem repetitive on the pictures, but there are usually subtleties that are not apparent in the small images.

it's about construction, intresting ideas, and feeling as oposed to obvious flashyness

I would add, IMO:

They present fresh ideas, things which haven't been done before and are new. They don't recycle 'classics' and drench designs with layer upon layer of references to past fashions and social conventions. Their outlook appeals to those who think of themselves as intellectual, progressive or arsty. Also, those who like 'artisanship' and beauty of construction may admire the details. Some people feel the design is more 'pure' because, like an architect, they don't re-interpret the past.

Not my cup of tea :flower:
