I didn't want to spend a fortune on my tampons, so I thought switching to the cardboard ones wouldn't be a bad change. I was wrong because using them is the most uncomfortable thing ever! Don't buy the Tampax Fresh Scent in the pink box!

So far, I find that the Tampax Pearl tampons are the best I have tried.

Anyone else? :flower:

I use OB. I guess to some people it seems weird at first, but you get used to it. And they are the ONLY kind I've used that have 0 leakage for me. And I like how easy they are to store in my bag, and travel with if I'm going on vaction. I love the no applicator-ness, they're convenient and discreet like that.

I really like the Pearl tampons. Very easy to use, easy to insert. Those are my favorites.

Nothing with a scent. :yuk:
Also I find those aplicators which are meant to help, a pain!

So anything without them lol.

I'm trying to think of the brand that was so bad I couldn't remove the tampon and it took about 10 minutes ..it felt like childbirth. I never went near that brand after...hmm what were they....

eh I hate OB's! They feel like chilbirth to me but in the opposite direction! Actually no, it feels like getting raped with a wooden log (im guessing here), especially with supers. I can only stand tampax with plastic applicators, the smoother the better.

I use Pearl Tampons. No leakage and they're comfortable. :flower:

^ I like them too...
but still suffer leaks from time to time.

Does OB only make applicator free?...

I guess im not really comfortable with the idea of getting something in there inthose days, my "down there" is so irritated and sensitive and the last thing i want is to forece something in there. but pads are really uncomfortable too....aaaaaaggh i hate my period:angry:

OB does make an applicator tampon.

Recently I've been using Playtex Gentle Glide regular unscented. My favorite ever was the Tampax 100% cotton natural ones but I can't find them anymore. I bought some all natural/organic tampons from Natracare that I plan on trying this month. Hopefully they're good - I like the idea of natural tampons.

i too am on the pearl bandwagon, they are just so fuss free (though i sound like a spokesperson saying that). i used to use the ob without the applicator like mundodabolsa said, but the pearl ones are easier.

I hate the leftover plastic aplicator waste, but I use pearl anyway. The carboard ones were uncomfortable, and the paper wrapper always got destroyed in my purse. So, pearl it is.
I'm considering trying OB next time around though.......

OBs just sound gross. Why would I want to stick my finger in that "bloody mess"?

I use Libra tampons. I like the all over cover on them. However I still find removing tampons to be uncomfortable. When I remove them it feels like my insides are being scratched.

And I absolutely hated Carefree tampons. The cotton seemed to be everywhere and make a mess. I can't stand Tampax. I think it's the shape they take when they're full. I find it uncomfortable.

A friend of my recently got one of those menstrual cups and she said it is the best thing she has ever done. I've been thinking of getting one to try myself. If it works out there would be the added benefit of never buying tampons again.

What are menstrual cups?

I think applicators are a cultural thing, I don't know anyone who uses them tbh

I don't really see the problem with not using an applicator if you're at home..I mean if you're right next to the sink you just wash your hands after....TMI much? Haha..but applicators are handy if you're in a public toilet or something because it's not fair on other people to potentially get dirty fingers over doors and such...

I don't use them personally. But then again I only use tampons when absolutely necessary because I'm freaked out about toxic shock.

I once had a tampon (Ob stuck in me for atwo weeks! I know, gross, but it's a girly thread, so I guess I can talk about it. It was one of those situation, when I was in a hurry in an airport and when I checked, I couldn't see a cord (it went it too far) and I just put a new one in! Nothing much happend, it didn't feel weird at all, and definetly could not feel it.

Imagine my suprise when I was in a shower and the tampon just popped out :ninja: This was literally the grossest moment of my entire life :ninja: It was like giving birth to an alien. I went to the doctor and he just shrugged, he said if something was wrong, I would already feel it big time  My mother said it happend to her once too and she had to go to a gyn. to get it removed. I wonder if it does indeed happen frequently. It says on the pack tampons don't get stuck in your body, but that's obviously a lie!
