First look at Tao as Mariko Yashida on the set of The Wolverine movie in Japan (with Hugh Jackman

Obviously Tao won't be joining the fashion weeks as she's busy filming!

As a fan of original Wolverine comics (miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller) this James Mangold-directed movie is based on and as a fan of Tao, it's unreal to have Tao cast as Mariko, Logan's true love! I can't wait to see more pictures and the movie itself the next summer!

Yay for Tao. Not having read the original comics, i didn't know how big of a role hers was, so thanks for explaining Shunichiro. She has the ability to transform in front of the camera which i am sure will be reflected in her acting. And she does look beautiful in that kimono. Gotta love the Japanese schoolgirls at the back as well.

^ I don't know if it will be a leading female role as the details are still quite far and few between (only first weeks of filming under way) but given the fact Mariko is Logan's (that would be Wolverine's real name) love and bride-to-be, it sure should be an important role nevertheless. There's also another big role in the original comic for a Japanese girl, Yukio, a cold-blooded assassin who falls for Logan, and in the movie she's played by a fellow model Rila Fukushima.

I personally think Tao will make a geat actress. In a sense, a good model is also an actress and Tao is fantastic model at that. A shy and humble Tao turns into everything she wants to be or is needed to be in front of the camera. Also, she has been excellent in portraying emotions in recent Emporio Armani campaign videos, especially the black & white for the last spring. Not only is she beautiful in it but she has a soul behind her eyes.

^ thanks for all the info, Shunichiro! I'm so excited for Tao, she will do fantastic because like you've said a model can make a good actress and Tao definitely has the talent. Now I'm even more excited for the film, I hope her role is not so minor. Can't wait for more details.
